mseuphrates So, basically, if you comment, I pick 3 of your user pics or interests and you post about them in your journal. Needless to say, you're seeing this because I commented on her post in the same vein. ;-)
1) The hair userpics - are those you??? Wow you have pretty hair. :D
*grins* Yes, they're mine. Thanks.
Those were taken before the henna experiments, so it's considerably more red now than it was then (although I'm always surprised looking at those two photos, because it *looks* red there).
And they were taken when I was still very dedicated to the no-shampoo-no-conditioner theory of hair, so it's a bit more frizzy now than those pics too. Eventually my hair decided it didn't like the baking soda/vinegar/coconut oil deal, and completely revolted and refused to curl much at all, so I went back to shampoo.
And I still haven't found the *right* regimen for my hair to be totally happy again, so I cope with somewhat frizzy, slightly tangled, but very very shiny hair that has curls again, so I'm happy.
It's been longer. And recently it's been shorter - in fact, still too short to stay up the way it is in that one pic, because the locks right at my face fall out of the clip. Which is disappointing, because it means I can't use my hairsticks either.
2) american gods - explain please?
Two fronts here.
First, the book by the same name by Neil Gaiman. I really like the book, and his take on religion - it speaks to me in a way many other "Pagan" writings don't these days. I'll point you
back to
the posts where I go on about it at length.
Second, it refers (rather obliquely) to my own personal theory that just as there are Norse Gods and Greek Gods and Egyptian Gods, there are also American Gods (which is likely a big part of why the book works for me, as it looks at the ideas of modern Gods, American Gods, and American forms of old Gods from other cultures).
There's some stuff I've
written on this subject too (yes, I write lots when I get an idea going in my head. My lack of writing of any depth lately worries me...suggests I'm really too stressed for my own good.)
3) edeyn edition - another explain please?
edeynedition was a podcast project an old friend started before (more) crazy stuff happened in her life. It was intended to be part humor, part creative writing outlet, part....well, whatever the hell she decided to put in. But things have really been nuts for her lately, with a death in the family, two moves, and multiple hospital stays since it was last active, so I'm not sure what she's planning to do with it.
