the office

So, things are starting to come together in my new office.

My new desk was unloaded from its box in the garage, and carried into the basement yesterday. The theory (such as it was) was that after Barry fixed the phone line & paid the bills, and I packed up all the orders that were ready to go out, we would assemble the desk.

So, at about 7:30, we started. It didn't take long to discover that we'd misplaced one part of the desk - which was also a major problem, since it holds the two sides of the desk together.

After looking for a while, we decided to continue putting the rest of the pieces together, until such time as we could work no farther.

Keeping in mind that I'm generally exhausted by 9 pm, and that I was hauling pieces around and installing cam bolts, by 8:30 I was ready for bed. Barry agreed that we could finish the step we were on and quit...but then he found the missing piece. So obviously, we had to do a few more things, so that the top could be assembled to the legs of the desk.

This took much longer than expected, and I was hungry and tired and cranky by the time we quit at 9:45.

My wrists hurt.

The good news: my ankles didn't hurt this morning. These new arch support insole thingies must be working well!
