Hey friends,

These days I'm teaching Spanish in Chicago (what an adventure), and I'm trying to create a lesson to promote cultural diversity.

It goes a bit like this...Can you acurately judge a book by it's cover? The plan is to have pictures of people from all over the world and my students will guess
a) where each person is from
b) what languages each person speaks.

To this end, I'd like to collect from my overflowing pool of international friends! For the most part I can get photos from facebook but if you can please please PLEASE send me a quick message about what country you are from and which languages you speak I'd really appreciate it. (If you want to share an interesting tidbit about yourself with the kiddos, by all means include that in the message).

If you were born in the U.S. but you're family is from another country, tell me! Also, please let me know you multi-lingual capabilities.

The goal is for the students to
a) understand you can't tell just by looking at someone where their from or what languages they speak
b) expand their ideas of what languages are spoken and where
c) have an idea that outside their community is a world waiting to be discovered

so racap: SEND ME A MESSAGE LETTING ME KNOW WHERE YOU ARE FROM AND WHAT LANGUAGES YOU SPEAK. (And a G-rated photo would be great too.)

Thanks,
Danke,
