Karl's Movietalk: The Devil's Rejects
When House of 1000 Corpses came out a few years ago, I thought it was the greatest thing since those snap bracelets. Being a huge fan of Rob Zombie and his music, I thought the movie was a fitting tribute to horror films of the past. So I went in to The Devil's Rejects looking for more of the same. And what I got was something much grittier, darker, and surprisingly enough, more violent. The film begins with a police raid on the Firefly family homestead, led by the brother of the Sheriff that was killed toward the end of the first movie. Mother Firefly is taken into custody, and Otis and Baby escape the carnage and drive off to hide out from the police. They catch up with your favorite clown and mine, Captain Spaulding, and hilarity ensues. This movie has everything! Rape, gutting, skinning, roadkills, torture, whores, pimps, shootouts, it's all here. If you like Rob Zombie, if you like horror movies, if you like seeing a hot girl's ass, run, don't walk, to your nearest multiplex to see this film. Awesome.
