Anyone heard about that "Joe the Plumber" at all? This guy who was mentioned over 20 times in the debate last night by McCain and Obama, who apparently approached Obama at one of his rallies because he had issues with Obama's plan to cut taxes for 95% of working Americans?
I wanna talk about that.
Cutting taxes for 95% of working Americans, means raising taxes for the 5% of people who make over $250,000 a year.
"BUT ZOMG I'M LIEK A TOTTLY RICH PERSON AND I TOTZ DESERVE ALL THAT MONEYS CUZ I EARNED IT!!11"
You know what, even a 50% tax on your ass that would still leave you with $125,000 a year, and that's more than double what the average person makes! You're doing better than most everybody else in this country, I don't see what you've got to complain about! Oh, boo-hoo, that poor rich person won't be able to afford that new mansion in Venice!!
You know what? I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR YOU. Nobody needs to live in a fucking mansion! You don't need your own damn personal airplane, you can live without 2,000 pairs of shoes and a fur coat for every day of the year.
If it were me, and I was successful enough to have made all that money, I would honestly NOT CARE if I were to be taxed a bit more. What is wrong with spreading the wealth around, seriously? I've been shit-poor and I know what it's like, and if I was able to, I would help anyone who needed it badly enough. I mean, yes, you DO have to know that your money is going to the right cause, but I guess we would find that out in due time.
Even so, in the meantime you're still fucking loaded. You have NOTHING to complain about.
I just don't see a problem with it. Being somebody who's only made the equivalent of $24,000 a year (and was doing pretty damn well I might add), I...fail to see why that is even an issue. If you ask me it's just rich people being fucking greedy and selfish. NOBODY needs that much money! NOBODY.
