Holy shit I need to clean this thing up a bit. Everything is so old, so ooooollllld @_@ and I'm kind of sick of my username =\ but the ones I would want are taken.

/PRE-POST BITCHING

Okay, so the other day I was lamenting the fact that my days seem to pass by so quickly. Kevin recommended that I start writing in a journal, as he thought it would help, so I'm really going to try to keep it up this time. Really I am!

WORK

In July, I got a job! and not freelance, an actual job in which I leave the house, arrive at my place of employment, work for a set number of hours, leave, and get a paycheck every two weeks. YAY! It's called the Country Buffet, and I alternate as both cashier and server. I like server better because I make some nice tips, though not everyone thinks to tip the server since we don't actually bring them their food. But we DO have to clean up after them and holy crap some people are slobs. Especially people with children. I haven't minded people not tipping if it's just a one-person table, but if someone comes in with their kid and leaves the table looking like a tornado hit it, then I'm kind of pissed when they leave me nothing LOL.

But anyway, it's been good so far. Everyone I work with is pretty nice, which always makes things so much easier. The pay sucks when I work as a cashier, but hey, it's not easy to find work here, especially when you barely have connections. I can live with it.

I actually did get desperate enough to work at McDonalds, back in April. Haha oh my god. Everything anyone ever says about working there? They aren't fucking kidding. It was terrible. That's an understatement. I can't think of a word accurate enough to describe working there. They put me on grill, and not only is it like eight thousand degrees back there, but also, they pack you in like sardines. I'm not exaggerating, you are literally back-to-back with your co-workers, hoping that nobody slips and bumps you and causes you to spontaneously make out with the grill.

Not only that, but this particular McDonalds was the worst at communication, I have never worked with a company so horribly lacking in that aspect. Nobody knew anything that I asked them, my schedule was never ready, I had to keep calling back to find out and the managers never fucking had a clue. One of them remarked to me on my first day how unqualified she was to be doing the job. Really? How reassuring.

To think I left orientation thinking, "Hey, this might not be so bad after all!" LOL. I think they purposely neglected to give us a tour of the place. The woman doing the orientation was the only professional person that I met there, and I didn't see her again afterward.

So one night I left...and I just didn't come back. They hadn't given me a schedule, and I called a few times, but I was just like 'Fuck this, I will find something better.' I still have the uniform, LOL. I didn't even want to go back to turn it in. It's very likely that they would've just stared blankly at me and not have known what to do anyway.

Fucking ridiculous. Never work at McDonalds. The legends are true.

In other news, I am finally free of graphic design. Thank god, Jesus H. Christ I don't know why I ever thought I would enjoy that. I'm just not the type of person who can create things for other people. I'm only interested in what I want to do, it just doesn't work for me. It almost killed my personal interest in graphic/web design completely @_@ Hopefully now that I'm done with that job, I can get back to working on my own personal websites as a hobby, and I can begin to love it again.

Moving on...

SCHOOL

Yay. I'm not sure if I mentioned that I was trying to get into the veterinary technology program at my community college, so if I haven't, then hey I just did! Right now I'm working on knocking off the prerequisites before I can fill out the program application. There are 4, and then 2 electives that I can take anytime I want. I took a class over the summer, but it was only 1 credit. Medical Terminology. It was a really neat class though and I enjoyed it, will definitely be able to apply what I learned in class to many things I do in the future, and that makes me feel good about it.

This semester I'm in three classes. Biology, Career Math and Public Speaking (which is one of those electives that I'm getting out of the way right now). I also need an English class, but I took so many at LSC that I've got that one covered.

Anyway, so yesterday was my first day. I set it up so that all of my classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I can be free to work the rest of the week. But holy crap I didn't sleep at all on Monday night, I maybe got 2 hours and that was it. I got up at 8:30, got ready for school and before I left I bought a bunch of energy drinks. I never drink those, normally, and I had two of them; one before I arrived, and the other after my first class. I was okay until around the time I got home, when I started to crash so hard. It was unbelievable, I'm never doing that again. NEVER.

Energy tastes fucking awful by the way. I bet one of the biggest factors in creating those things is trying to mask that disgusting taste they all have. Ugh gross.

So anyway those are the two main things going on. I'm also getting excited because jesscheaux is coming to visit me for a week in November! :D She never comes to LJ anymore so she won't see this and squee with me but whatever XD

Okay also, games I play right now: WoW, Dragon Age, Fable 3 and I'm trying to get into Mass Effect. I started a pt but I haven't played in a while.

Anyway, that's pretty much all I have to talk about. Yep.
