lots has happened. i went to MI for halloween - i think i wrote about it. i went to nc for jill's baby's baptism... i don't remember if i wrote about it. this past weekend i was in pittsburgh with trevor and went to the steeler game. it was the best weekend we have had together in some time.
movie's i saw:
Borat (i'm not going to write the whole title) had funny parts, but as a whole was sad. I guess from hearing everyone say how hilarious it was, boosted my expectations. Don't get me wrong, it definitely had hilarious parts, such as when Borat tries to take the tears of a gypsy (aka. a lady having a yard sale). There were also parts that I needed to turn my head in disgust. The more i thought about the movie (and Trevor too) we decided that if you look at Borat as an actual person (not whats-his-face portraying a character) it is really sad that his life is that way and how ignorant he is. Luckily, it only is a character - and even worse so! When i read all of the articles talking about how the natives in the film were paid a max of $5 for their roles, I felt bad that they were taken advantage of, and that Sacha-whatever-the-hell is making megabucks! I felt bad for the people who were dooped, but i don't think it's as bad because they could have been familiar with Borat from 'Da ali G Show.' Overall, i would say it is a rental... with lots of friends and maybe some substance abuse.
Stranger Than Fiction was absolutely amazing. First of all, i enjoyed because of the writing theme - the author having writers block and how she goes about getting ideas. And, i think it was an original idea... or atleast the idea of someone being caught in a narrative of a book was never brought up to me before. I love Will Ferril, and i love that he is good in an acting part. I love Dustin Hoffman, if he wasn't almost 70 i'd have a crush on him. His character was delightful and funny, though not trying to be funny. And Maggie Gyllenhal is cute and plays an awesome rebelious baker. This movie could also be a rental, but I enjoyed it on the big screen with the surround sound enough to say drop the $6 bucks (matinee of course) and see it.
the steelers won and it was awesome. this week they should beat the browns. if they don't i won't cry - but i will admit that they are pathetic and get made fun of at work. eh.
today, finally, i signed up for my last minute gre's. i'm taking them december 1st at 9 am - 4 pm (yikes!). I hope i do well. I'm applying to American University and NYU. I want to go to NYU because the program I am choosing to apply for is AMAZING. I'm not gonna get ahead of myself - i need a lot of financial support before i can decide to go. But anywho - i need to start on the rest of my applications (i got the recommendations started) and i'll be set.
Starting tomorrow or Friday, most-likely Friday, I AM starting going to the gym. Yes, i'm dropping an astronomical amount to work out at this top-of-the line gym, with a pool - that is 100 times better than any YMCA i've ever stepped foot in (and i've been in many).
I bought trev an ipod nano ( 4 gig - green) for his bday/christmas and gave it to him this weekend since I won't see him until New Years (with jenny - i can't wait). he loved it, but was bummed i spent that much money on him. eh.
That's all I have.
