For the Hiramites II
Dear all who left questions and/or comments on my last entry,
First of all, thanks for reading! I always wonder if I actually have an audience here, or if I'm writing just for Dani who I know is always lurking. ;-)
Second, the Hiram Card was sent out a couple weeks ago. It's a discount card for local (Hiram/G-ville/Aurora) locations. You can learn more by checking out the Hiram website http://alumni.hiram.edu/Connected/card.html
If you didn't get the card delivered to your house, my advice would be to call your parents and see if it was delivered there. If you get the annual "give us money guilt trip" mailing, then you probably should have gotten the discount card too.
In my opinion, the card seems like a good idea for the kids still in college and the alumni in the local area. But personally, I don't forsee driving all the way to G-ville just to get a free soda from the DQ. Maybe if this idea takes off and they expand to alumni run businesses all over the country, it'll turn out to be a good thing.
If I could, I would offer a free pile of coal to every card carrying Hiram alum I see.
