Busy, busy! So, I'm in the middle of moving. Right now, my bed is in the new place and most of my stuff (including the clean sheets, oops) is still at the old place. But I finally cancelled the cable/internet at the old place today, so yay for defeating the evil telephone. Still have no idea how exactly Jen and I are going to fit all of our stuff into our share of this tiny house, but HOUSE. With a GARAGE. And an ATTIC. Those are things that will help. It would probably help in putting away all of our clothes in way less closet than we've become used to if our bed (with totally awesome underbed drawers! \o/ ) arrived, but it's probably not going to show up until the end of the week. :(
School's going okay. Summer classes continue to weird me out in their existence. Going to class in the summer is just wrong, okay?
I'm going to see the Cab in a couple weeks. (Note to self, give your sister directions so she will be able to Find Your House) and I'm kind of \o/ about that. I was supposed to see No Doubt and Paramore Friday but didn't because I'm a failboat. I figured we could just get lawn seats when we got there, but by the time Jen and I made it up to Indianapolis, they had sold out. Sold out of lawn seats. How do you even do that? We listened to part of Paramore's set in the parking lot before we left, though, so \o?. On the way home, the radio played "Good Girls Go Bad" which is a pretty decent consolation prize. :) I love Cobra Starship a stupid lot and wish I could go see them on their Hot Mess tour. On the bright side, at least this time around they remembered "when you finish an album, then you're supposed to go on tour!" more than a few weeks before the album dropped. I'm proud of them, okay?
I'm way way excited about seeing Panic/FOB/Blink 182 in August, despite the recent Panic! divorce. I'm really excited to see what Spencer and Brendon are going to turn out, musicwise, and pretty sure I will love it since I already adore the 30-second clip they posted, but it will definitely be weird to see wrong people on stage with them. On a purely musical level, I'm actually quite excited about Jon and Ryan leaving the band to do their own thing because twice as much music! And I will probably like it all! But fandomwise, I'm worried about what the longterm effects will be. :( Every single one of my favorite PatD pairings are no longer PatD pairings. :( :( :( But right now I'm just sitting back and waiting for the fixit fic to roll in (I would like all of it. Right now, if you don't mind.).
And now: assorted downloads!
Speaking of various and assorted versions of Panic! (sidebar, I really and truly missed the exclamation point and am kind of stupidly joyful that it appears to be back. ino, ino.)
Hillside Sessions, Jon Walker's side project with Eric Ronick provides us with a cover of
"You're So Bad" and
"I'm Getting Over You".
Spencer and Brendon evidently spent a lot of time entertaining Pete while they were busy not telling us the rest of their band left (I suspect the two things are not unrelated) but I don't mind since it got us this
awesome lullaby-thing and
a bit of a Frank Sinatra cover. And then they covered
Three Little Birds to make us feel better about the split. It sort of works!
Speaking of Pete, this mashup/remix with "This Ain't A Scene" set to the background of "I Will Survive" is maybe the most awesome thing on earth.
Download it! Speaking of nothing relevant at all, new Billy Talent cd is finally out! Okay, well, technically it doesn't come out until Tuesday, but whatever. I am listening to it right now and going \o/ :) \o/ :).
Billy Talent III Also apropos of nothing, I told my sister she needed to listen to Gaslight Anthem, but if I wait for her to remember and go download it on her own, it will take far too long, so I decided to just upload them myself. If you have never listened to Gaslight Anthem, you should.
