So I made it through the most stressful day ever (that would be yesterday), and now everything is great!! Yesterday I had class from 9 to 5, with a couple breaks in between during which I crammed for the algebra quiz that I wrote in my 4:00 class. That went well. Then, I came home for twenty minutes before heading back to school to meet Bob for dinner and then we went to a presentation on Uganda. They're doing a series of presentations on African countries right now, with some of the international students presenting on their home countries. Last week our friend Tefo presented on Lesotho, so Bob and I went to see that, and it was awesome, so we decided to go to the one last night too. Tefo was also supposed to come, but definitely stood us up. I've learned lots, and I would definitely love to go to Africa some day, but the thing that hit me the most was last week, when Tefo was presenting, and he said that the life expectancy in Lesotho is 36. Here's this guy that I hang out with all the time, my physics lab partner, a friend. He's 23. On average, he's two thirds of the way through his life. I still feel like I've barely begun my life, but if I were from Lesotho, I'd be more than half way done. Scary.
Anyways, went to the thing on Uganda, got home at about quarter to ten, watched the end of American Idol. And then, I started my homework. This would be the stressful part. I had a thermal physics assignment to do, and a calculus test that I hadn't started studying for (which I wrote today at 11). The asst took a little over two hours, and by then I was too tired to study, so I slept. Got up early this morning, studied, then went to thermal physics, where I found out that our midterm is now a week later, which is super sweet, cause we got our quantum midterm bumped because of thermal, and now they're all spread out, and my week back after the break will be much less stressful. And then I wrote calculus, which went really well... And now I'm done for the day. All in all, a very good time had, cause now I get to relax and think about being at home tomorrow.
And I'm getting ridiculously excited, cause everything's working out so well for the country dance on Saturday... It feels weird, cause I'm not really excited for my birthday, but I've been waiting for this country dance forever. It is gonna be great!!
And I'm spent... Thank you, ridiculously long post. I'm off to the couch and TV!
