I have a new computer, but am not in the least bit happy.

So, Billy bought a new tower. They guy at Best Buy said we could put my old harddrive in as a secondary, and I could access all my stuff that way.

It didn't work. He tried putting it in a 2nd time (I guess in a different port), and that didn't work. He said the guy said if it doesn't work, then the hard drive must have gotten corrupted when the mother board died. If this is the case, I have lost every single picture of Nathan from 2009 (save for the ones I posted somewhere on the Internet). This makes me want to throw up.

How can a mother board's death lead to the corruption of a hard drive?  (Hell, we don't even know if it was actually the mother board, but I'm too impatient to live without a computer for as long as it would take to find all this out.)  Is it a hopeless case?  Will I go on my entire life hating myself for not backing up almost 4 months worth of pictures of my precious boy?!
