(no subject)
Today was like yesterday - too cool outside in a summer dress but a bit warm in the car and just right in the house! I slept in until 8.30 am and #2 chooky didn't like that at all! I had another cat nap at mid-morning and now feel something like human again. It is 25C in the house and that will have been the max outside today. Funny summer we're having! (It was incongruously raining when we were singing carols yesterday - it should have been a hot, sunny day!) There has not been enough rain for me to stop watering my veges, though. A little more water has gone in the tank - which is just as well with me doing the washing, washing up, showering etc.
Old Flame borrowed Gyro's whipper snipper and was mightily impressed by its power. He tried to get his step-son to use it, but he didn't understand you keep an even speed and 'sweep'. He kept revving it up and didn't seem to get the sweeping motion at all. Old Flame's ex tried it, but it was too big for her, as it is for me. Old Flame is going to keep a look out for parts for my $200 electric one, which will be good, because I CAN use that.
Old Flame also got ONE mower going, because four 'O' rings arrived in his mail. He got them for far less on eBay than the shops around here. He is going to put one in my mower, too (because it needs one). Then he will look out for a carby kit for mine (I have NO idea where the new one Gyro got went! It's in a plastic bag with the old one SOMEWHERE!)
I don't think that I mentioned that the Clucky Chook did not like when I disturbed the nest. I removed them the other day to put some more hay under them because one egg was touching the mesh and I thought it might break. But I did not put them back in the right order! I calmed her down with some treats and then she went back.
Okay, I'm going to 'hit the hay' early tonight and then hopefully go to the local market tomorrow.
