Hello, you!

Okay: more context. I'm going to sit out further discussion for another day, but I will give you some dialogue from which to guess. It gets more and more obvious as the chat progresses. If you don't get it by the end, you fail the nineties.

kabukichris: Oh wow.
kc: Can I talk about [band name] again?
kc: I am beginning to have a lot to say.
kc: You did not give me permission, but I will continue.
kc: compare and contrast:
kc: [song title] circa 1993: http://www.youtube.com/REDACTED
kc: And circa 2000: http://www.youtube.com/REDACTED
kc: I remember when that first acoustic version aired on MTV.
kc: Because I waited up for it.
kc: And, [singer], in retrospect looked/sounded so good. He was you know, wearing clothes, and not dancing like an even more strung out Iggy Pop
kc: And was a healthy weight

twerpalicious: He doesn't wear clothes sometimes?

kc: Well, in the second video he is shirtless
kc: But, wearing some sort of weird scarf.
kc: It's depressing me.
kc: To summarize: 1993 video, great.
kc: 2000 video: kind of ridiculous.

tw: Can't wait!

(later)
tw: I am happy they are completely dressed for the acoustic video.

kc: Me too!
kc: forgot how good he looked back then, before he turned into a skeleton with eyeliner
kc: and leather pants.

tw: So far, second one's not doing it for me.

kc: exactly!

tw: I'm glad he's wearing an ascot. Instead of, like, a shirt.
tw: A shirt might interfere with his gaudy tattoo scarring.

kc: exactly!

tw: But I can tell that he does indeed "feel it."

kc: the audience, however
kc: doesn't.
kc: it seems.

tw: Ha ha, to the audience thing.
tw: This always struck me as a song nobody was really passionate about, just a staple of DJs getting up to smoke or go to the bathroom or whatever other DJs do.

kc: This song made me love music.

tw: Oh.

kc: I realize now it's not so wonderful.
kc: and the lyrics are the worst ever.

tw: But what if these really are the eyes of disarray?

kc: Would you even care?

tw: Probably not.
