Firstly, if anyone is planning on attending
Sasquatch and is curious about the plans being made by
ozmafan and I (or the surrounding non-festival plans which also include
longstandingjoy and
indierockaholic), now would be the time to drop a comment.
This weekend I start training with
inLingua Language Center. The instructors work as independent contractors, and work may or may not be available at any given time, but it's exactly the kind of experience I need to get started. If I could swing two afternoon classes a week, and a weekend shift
here, that would end up being an ideal schedule and income for me in the next year or so. We'll see. I ought to make some phone calls tomorrow to pull strings on the PGH job. It's part of the same hospital system I worked for in Gainesville, and: PRN Chart Analysis flex weekends only? Hello fantasy backup job!
(Wait, Christine. Weren't you miserable working a medical records weekend shift before?
Yeah, but 12-hour days as a file clerk with full-time employee responsibilities ≠ flex weekends as an analyzer with PRN freedom. It's like I made a list of ridiculous demands and PGH went ahead made a position just for me.)
I also move on Saturday. Cousin Mike has really been my best friend lately, and I am feeling really good about this situation. I'm giddy, excited, relieved, and certainly ready.
This coming Monday, I head over to Markham Park to work my volunteer set-up shift for Langerado. The goal I've set for this festival is to make an effort to meet people. I have not been doing enough of that lately. Or, ever. I think Monday will be interesting.
