Augh. My rl is being a real pain. Well, the people in it are.
Not everyone. I mean, most people are still awesome, and everyone I'm close to rocks my socks.
But...
There are other people who I'm friendly with and like enough and who I have to see on a near-daily basis who need to shut up a little.* Because when you are upset with something, when you can't do something, the solution is not to say who everyone who can do it sucks. The solution is not to throw a hissy fit because you're not getting your own way, but insist that you "don't care that you can't do it, because it's dumb anyway.". And the solution is certainly not to cover your ears and start 'la la la'-ing whenever the topic comes up, not if you're serious.
If people would owe up to the fact that they were feeling left out, and then asked if people could not talk about it because it hurt their feelings? That's cool. But if people insist on stupidly lying, I am going to treat their fake emotions like their real ones. I worry about hurting other peoples feelings all the time, but when people will not admit that they are hurt, because they are too high and mighty to admit it... I have no patience there.
I love people, in general, despite the many flaws of our species, but sometimes I just... Ugh.
A few other tidbits running through my head, pretty random and uninteresting, but much less depressing:
-I don't talk about books a lot here, but I love reading. Anywho, I just finished The Temple of My Familiar, by Alice Walker. It took me a month, and it would have better, I think, to have read it all at once, but it was... Interesting. Not as good as The Color Purple, but I did enjoy it... I think. Actually, I'm not sure yet. I've always been so mentally detached from issues of sexism and racism, to the point where I feel a little guilty, so it was a book full of foreign concepts to me.
-I'm not able to get on the computer at home much lately, which is why I'm still behind in some stuff. Soon, though, I should be on more regularly. (Well, regularly for me.)
-Dawn of the Dinosaurs is coming out reeeeally soon. Well... reeeeally soon-ish. I'm excited.
