The HIves are Law YOU ARE CRIME
Last night, I saw what is the most amazing rock act in certainly a decade, if not longer...
THE HIVES!!!!!!!!!!!
They were insane! It was like an hour of jumping and dancing along to the punk rock songs played at 100 mph. I know some people don't like Pelle Almqhivist, the lead singer, cause they think he's too self-absorbed or whatever, but honestly, all the Hives are self absorbed and that's what makes it so great. I went to the show with Danny, Meghan, and Ryan, which was cool cause I haven't seen those guys in quite a while. The band who played before the Hives were called Sahara Hotnights, and I would certainly suggest downloading their stuff. They are 4 attractive girls playing Hives-like music, and theyre even from Sweden too. The bass player even wore a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers t-shirt. But of course you forget the opening bands, once the tarp come down and the sign of the HIVES lit up.
I am making the statement that it will probably the best live show I go to for a very long time, because I can't think of another band out there who has the stage presence, energy, and witty banter (yes i said witty banter) of the HIVES. If you have not picked up their new album I would definitely suggest doing so. The set list was a real good mix of Vini Vedi Vicious and the new album Tyrannousarous Hives. They even encored with AKA IDIOT, which is a really old song I guess, and a really good one. During the show, Danny yelled out that The Hives are the best band on the planet, and Pelle actually acknowledged that he said it, saying "It didn't come from my lips." Nicholas Arson (oh what a name) said they should give Danny "a microphone and 10000 speakers". Meghan got up real close to the stage and got kicked in the boob by Pelle and also got to pinch his butt (apparently its pretty tight). And Ryan somehow managed to get the set list even though it was ripped into a bunch of pieces. I saw Dude from the Nuclears at the concert, and he said they have something coming up at the Velvet Lounge. Just in case anyone really loved them at Terango's house.
But yeah, to sum up, THE HIVES WILL RULE THE WORLD. I wish I had convinced more people to go to this show, because it was really such an amazing sight to be seen.
