Adventures in Adulthood

I went to the dentist this morning. (Insert encouraging comments of how proud you are of me) It's the first cleaning I've had in... kind of a really long time.. and today's appointment was not bad. And now my teeth are clean again! However, there is much work to be done - to be specific, seven fillings, three sealants, and two partial crowns (old fillings that need to be redone, but where there's not much tooth left to hold it together - that's the most expensive bit).

But that's okay, because of several things. First of all, I have the money for it at this point in time. (Now I'll just have to save up again to get the Droid phone, new Wacom tablet, software, etc that I've been intending to get sometime soon.) Also, none of the work needed is a root canal. But even that would be okay, because of the third point: they sedate you! I can get all that work done in one sitting, and I won't have to be there for it.

The root canal I had last time was honestly the best dental appointment I've ever had, and I've just referred two coworkers to them because of how attractive that sedation idea is. And since I'm having so much work done, I don't have to pay for the sedative medication. Yay!

Anyway, I'm very pleased at not having had a bad experience at the dentist today. And that before I took myself to work, I also decided to stop by the County Health Building for a new copy of my birth certificate and the Social Security Office for a new SS card, so I can finally change my license over.

My big dentist appointment is on Friday, and I conveniently have the day off work for Pioneer Day. Things are coming together well.

OH! One more thing.. This weekend I've fallen in love with the show "White Collar" - it's a crime dramedy about a con man (theft/forgery/fraud/etc) who convinces the FBI agent who caught him to let him out of prison in exchange for consulting on his team's cases. It's a lot of fun, and the con man is very pretty (I want to draw his hair!!).. It just started its second season last week.
