I officially am highly displeased with Megavideo. Not only have I *not* watched 72 minutes of video today (the day is young! I've watched about 30!!), but you keep CUTTING ME OFF RIGHT WHEN THE SHOW IS ALMOST OVER ( Read more... )

It did that to me on Saturday, too. And I'd only watched about 50 minutes of Merlin, as opposed to a couple days before when I watched about 4 hours. It was a very long day. I needed to shut my brain down. What gives?

Super lame! I'm glad that I found the last few Heroes episodes on Hulu, so I don't have to wrangle with Megavideo more today. >_<

Btw... I was intrigued by your mentioning "Merlin" (I followed your icons to find out more, and discovered these lovely Green Arrow ones the other day), and now I have to ask - what is this "Merlin" show? (I assume it's a show.) Please explain!

PS~ Really looking forward to Thanksgiving!! ^_^

Merlin is awesome! It's a new BBC show--episode 10 just came out on Saturday--that, uh, takes the basic premise of the Arthurian legend and runs with it. ("There's this guy called Arthur! And he's gonna be the Once and Future King! Or something. Only he needs help from a wizard! Who is totally not this old dude, eww. And, hey, let's make him secretly a wizard and actually Arthur's servant! And let's throw in some dragons and undead spirits and beautiful opera singers who are really ugly old witches with ninja throwing knives! AWESOME!")

There's as little adherence to the real Matter of Britain as there is to historical accuracy, but somehow it's wonderfully compelling all the same. (A great deal of credit is due to the marvelously attractive actors who play Arthur and Merlin.) It's great fun, especially when it's been a long day and you just need to sit back and enjoy the pretty. Kind of like SPN, except with fewer monsters and less sense.

mistful gave a wonderful review here that addicted me without ever seeing the series. Rest assured ( ... )

Oh, wow, I'm becoming more and more fond of mistful's reviews of things, and I didn't know that was possible. I must see this show.

And I was thinking.. how interesting that the BBC has their rewritten-into-teen-angst-drama Merlin, and the likewise teen-angst drama Robin Hood, which draws on Britain's folk heroes... and what do we make teen-angst dramas out of? Superheroes. Does that mean superheroes are America's folk heroes? (Works for me!) How interesting!
