On this day.

"The kids were up before dawn this morning
Straight to the Christmas tree they ran
They called up stairs for us to hurry
They'd waited for this day about as long as they could stand.

While trading presents the little one asked me, "Why do we have Christmas each year?"
Well I said 'Long ago a child was born this day and He's a gift more precious than all we see here.

''Cause on this day a child was born in the town of Bethlehem and on this day God sent His son to bring peace and goodwill to all men. On this day we call Christmas we honor His name, on this day we recall all the reasons He came. On this day, on this day...'

Grandma and Grandpa arrived after breakfast, the rest of the gang by noon
We spent the day watching football and breaking in toys
Helping out in the kitchen, catching up on old news
And when that dinner bell rang we all took our places
Grandpa said who wants to say grace
Before anyone else could offer a word, the little one bowed her head and she stared to say

'On this day a child was born in the town of Bethlehem and on this day God sent His son to bring peace and goodwill to all men. On this day we call Christmas we honor His name, on this day we recall all the reasons He came. On this day, on this day..'

On this day we call Christmas we honor His name on this day we recall all the reasons He came. On this day, On this day...."

Everyone knows how I adore this time of year- most of the time. It's just got a special feeling, some people understand that feeling and others think I'm crazy. Anyway, the one thing that I hate about this time of year is that people have no idea what they are celebrating. They just know that they spend time with family and buy each other presents. Christmas is the most wonderful day, not because of family togetherness (even though that is good too, but families can do that any time), but because this is the day that our savior was born. The man that took all of my sins and your sins on himself, the perfect man. And you know he would have endured that pain and torture for only me alone, or for you alone. There could have been no one else on this earth except you and he would have gone through anything just to save you. He loves us that much. It's an amazing feeling to know that, to know that He feels I am worth loving that way.

So this year remember what Christmas is really about and try to honor the Lord the way he should be honored. I'm going to keep posting things that remind us of the real christmas meaning.

Love!
