My friends, I've got a question for you: What's your text tolerance?
As you probably noticed, I can be a very wordy cat. Conciseness is something I have to consciously work for, as I like including details and I've become accustomed to using somewhat flowery phrases and flavorful formations in my writing. I like to think it makes my work interesting or witty, but at what point is it too much of a good thing?
I hate it when someone says "TL;DR" (Too long; didn't read) to a forum post or journal entry that the author clearly put a lot of effort into, but some days even I look at a wall of text and feel like skimming or skipping it. This is especially true if I'm tired or stressed out.
So, what's your tolerance for text? What makes you most likely to decide you have better things to do and move on rather than reading?
