Save Vs. Splurge

lambs! It's summertime and it's time to do a slight overhaul to our vanity kits. Obviously we are not born as major heiresses to some business empire so it's hard to earn money, can I get an amen for that?

1. Bronzers

Splurge: Jergen's Soft Shimmer Lotion which would set you back from 375 - 480 pesos. Obviously you cannot use it on your face because they sell another product specifically for the face.

Save: Nivea Tinted Moisturizer if you're just after a soft glow on your face and if you're not really allowed to bare much skin in the workplace. You'd only have to fork out 150 - 200 pesos for this baby.

Another money saving tip if you're really in a pinch. Shake HBC's Allue Bronzing Powder (50-68 pesos for a big tub) onto an adequate amount of your morning moisturizer until you achieve the desired shade you like. Apply on your face, and viola. Instant bronzer for a fraction of the price.

2. Fragrances

Now is not the time to break out the eau de parfum, and if I couldn't stop you, then please, spare me and the rest of the sniffing public with your gag-inducing spray-happy trip. A spritz or two to your pulse points would do the trick. Or if it's simply too strong, spray into the air and walk through the mist. Remember summer is a time for sweating and sweat intensifies oil-based scents.

Splurge: D&G Light Blue. This fragrance literally screams SUMMER! Although the price would also make you scream, especially for penny-pinchers money conscious people like me.

Save: Zen Zest and Baby Bench fragrances. Zen Zest's Martini (around 150 pesos) concoction is a D&G knock-off and the smell stays on quite long for a cheaply-priced cologne.  I'm currently hooked on Baby Bench's Jelly Bean cologne. A big-ass bottle only costs 80 pesos. Imagine that!

Well...that's it for now, as you've read in my other livejournal account, I'm manning the shop for this entire weekend so I couldn't scour the malls yet for more divine finds.

Remember, keep makeup to a minimum since it can clog your pores. Summer is not the time to pile on the pang-sagala makeup. Save that for the horrific Flores De Mayo.

And please! Put SPF on! From sunblock up to your lip balms!

Toodles! Stay fab bitches!
