April Fool's Day. :)
April Fool's Day!
This is so silly, but it's my favorite prank to pull on my students. I spent time earlier this week making random, offhand remarks like: "I'm glad spring is coming." "I love purple." "Maybe I'll paint my fingernails purple!" "Maybe I'll put purple in my hair." "Maybe I'll wear all purple pajamas.." [note: we have pajama day today at school as well. :)]
So then I put on a purple wig before they come in and spend time as the kids come in convincing them that I went to the hair salon and had them dye my hair purple. I'm quite good at having excuses for anything they come up with.
Their look of absolute surprise and delight during Morning Meeting when I whip off the wig is priceless!
So, heh. Yeah, I'm excited.
[other note: we actually still do loads of work on pajama day/April Fool's/etc... I just like having a lot of fun with it all.]
And, just to start the day off righter than right, a final shot of Martin in the Morning.
I love this picture -- the entire thing: his clothes, the scarf, the hat, his stubble, and his little charming wee grin. I think he'd be a great person to go and have a beer with.
Also, I'd definitely want him as my partner in crime for April Fool's pranks du jour. He looks so perfectly mischievous.
