safe music
So, I was born in the early 1970's. (*gasp* old!)
I have a lot of music from the 1970's that I listen to a lot and I was talking with my friend Squid one day and we were discussing our love of it and she described it to me as "safe music." To me, that means that it's all music that I associate with early and mid-childhood things; I don't have it associated with my great unrequited love or that heartache or omg, he didn't ask me to dance, etc...
I can't really lump all 1970's music into that category, but more often than not, when I'm listening to some 1970's compilation or some such, most of the music just makes me grin.
So, I wonder, do any of you have "safe music?" (heh. or even know what I'm talking about?) If so, what is it? And why is it safe for you?
