So I was headed for a North Korean prison...

I must begin this post with two caveats:

1. Of course, I don't wish a North Korean prison on anyone (or an Iranian prison, more on that later), but you've got to have some idea when you go traipsing around along the North Korean border that maybe you'll get caught and end up bashing rocks, right? I mean...RIGHT?

2. I'm sure there was a lot more wrangling than just Bill Clinton, and the facts that a) those two reporters were working for Al Gore, and b) one of them was the sister of Lisa Ling were both very helpful, but...

Dang. That guy can talk anyone into anything, can't he? It's lucky Clinton mostly uses his powers for good (well, and cheating) because it could get ugly if he were like...a fascist. But wow. Can you imagine? There you are, locked up in a North Korean prison, thinking you'll head off to the rock pile any day now, and then bam! You get led down a hall, which you're sure is the way to the labor camp, and who's there to greet you but Bill Clinton, who flew there on a chartered jet (paid for by Elizabeth Hurley's baby daddy...wtf?) just to bring you home. I think I might've passed out right there. Or at least started crying. And when I watched the video this morning of those two women getting off the plane in Burbank, I totally lost it. Dumb move or not, they must be really glad to be home. I wonder which of them will write a book first. I'll totally read it.

However...

At least they were working and trying to do something useful like expose human trafficking. Those hikers in Iran just blow my mind. I mean...HIKING? The only cool place you can think of to go hiking in the entire world is along the Iran/Iraq border? That's a special kind of stupid. It makes sense the Iranians think they're spies. Espionage is a whole lot more logical than, "Yeah for vacation, we thought we'd hike up here; the view's supposed to be great." But if those guys really were spies, you'd think they'd have come up with a better cover story. Sydney Bristow would've had a better cover story for sure.

Things are fine with me. No Doubt is this weekend! Woo Hoo!! Here's hoping Gwen scales some scaffolding and does backbends across the stage.
