Ampharos Tutorial:

For sabaku_no_chibi as a present for the holidays. Focuses mainly on coloring and gradients.

If it was confusing, drop me a comment! ♥ I'd love to see your results. :3

Angel's Song Tutorial:

This is for ichigo_inu for the holidays. Focuses on selective coloring and small parts of photo manipulating.
/NOT/ applicable to Photoshop Elements OR Paint Shop Pro, sorry!

Turn
into
.

Step oo1;;
Find the base ya want and then slap it onto a 100 x 100 document. I chose a screencap from Ayumi Hamasaki's "momentum" music video.

Step oo2;;
Since I was listening to "Angel's Song" (Also by Ayu) during the time, I wanted to put angel wings on her.
(Note, for the directions below: In order to make that image into a brush, go to Edit-->Define Brush. You can then change the color when brushing.)
Using THIS brush, first I resized, then I tilted the wing (Edit-->Transform-->Flip Horizontal) and then rotated it slightly to make it look more "natural." (Press CTRL + T to freely rotate.)
Brush made by angels_redagger on DeviantArt.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo3;;
Make a new layer and fill it with the color F7941D.
Set to SOFT LIGHT at 46%.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo4;;
Here comes the selective coloring! In case you don't know where it is, refer to THIS image to assist!
The selective coloring window looks like THIS.

Basically, all you're doing for this particular tutorial is just plugging in numbers. If you choose to use selective coloring on your own, you can see the different results by playing with the numbers, or with the sliders.
Simply put in the numbers for the specific color. (As you can tell in the above screenshot, there's a drop-down list that shows colors like Red, Yellow, etc. We will only need to deal with a few of them.)

For the RED:
Cyan: -89
Magenta: +14
Yellow: +68
Black: +16

For the YELLOW:
Cyan: +100
Magenta: +16
Yellow: +100
Black: +18

For the BLUE:
Cyan: +44
Magenta: +3
Yellow: 0
Black: 0

For the MAGENTA:
Cyan: -100
Magenta: +100
Yellow: +85
Black: +21

For the NEUTRAL:
Cyan: +42
Magenta: +40
Yellow: -15
Black: -12

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo5;;
Next, we'll move on to Brightness/Contrast. Refer to THIS image to locate it.
The Brightness/Contrast window looks like THIS.

Input the following:
BRIGHTNESS:: -4
CONTRAST:: +20

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo6;;
Add a brush similar to THIS. (Well, erase everything but the borders, really.) Put it near the bottom. :D

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo7;;
Finally, add some text onto the icon for a finishing touch. I used Garamond in A5A8D2, and wrote the text, "ANGEL'S SONG". (Like I said, inspired by the song.)

Annnnnd you're done! |D;; Hope this was easy enough. ^^;

Espeon Banner Tutorial:

Made this for ichigo_inu for the holidays. Consists of simple banner making, and brushing. Compatible with other programs, I think.

I actually made this banner for a friend on her birthday, and personally, I dislike the uber-shinyness it has, but I think that it's a pretty basic banner, and manages to have a good outcome in a short amount of time.
The steps ARE a bit vague, because I want you to find some of your own brushes to test out and experiment with. But if you have trouble finding certain things, then tell me, and I might upload my stuff for you.

Step oo1;;
Take a "base" background. I chose THIS as my base. It's rather light, but we'll fix that later.

Step oo2;;
Make a new layer and fill it with 440E62.
Set to OVERLAY at 100%.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo3;;
Duplicate the previous layer.
Set to SOFT LIGHT at 40%.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo4;;
Add a ton of sparkly/snowy brushes in a few places. I chose the sides because I didn't want to clutter the center too much.
You can achieve the same effect by using a soft-edged brush. (But finding ones on DeviantArt is way easier. xD)

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo5;;
I took an image of an Espeon and then extracted it so that the backround was clear. I dragged it into the banner and
(Take an image with a white backround, and use the Magic Wand Tool to erase parts of the white background.)

Then I used an angel wing brush and added it in a reasonable place. I tilted, rotated, and resized the ones I've used. Then I erased the parts I didn't need and I dragged it behind the Espeon layer.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo6;;
I added a few starry strands and glowwy thingys on the banner's sides once again, to make it look shiny, and take up some space.
You can download stuff like this on DeviantArt as well.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo7;;
Next, make a new layer and fill it with EFD8F6.
Set it to COLOR BURN at 100%.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo8;;
Add some text! I wrote down "Hell hath no fury" in Garamond, size 14. Then on a new layer, I wrote "Pheonix Cat" (Yes, I'm aware it's not spelt right--It's her screename.) in...I believe, "Vladmir Script".
For the two text layers, I right clicked and selected "Blending Options". Then I checked the "Stroke" option on the window, and selected a lightish blue color. Then I set the size to about 2 px and changed the blending mode to OVERLAY.
Click HERE for reference.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

Step oo9;;
Create a new layer.
Last, I added a white border using the Single Row Horizontal/Vertical Marquee Tool. I chose a width of three pixels. Using the tool, hold down the shift key and click three times on the edge of the border for both horizontal and vertical. Do NOT let go of the shift key!
Right click, and select "Fill". Then choose the option "White". Click okay. The border should be all white now.

If you want to make the edge of it appear, on that SAME layer, use the Single Row Horizontal/Vertical Marquee Tool again, but only click ONCE on the four sides. (Once again, don't let go of the SHIFT key.) Once all four edges are selected, hit the Backspace key, and the border should appear.

Click THIS to see what's happened.

xD I did all of this in notepad, so I'm sorry if it comes out really retarded...
