Chaya's Omakase Kinkaku

So, last night Tom and I managed to make it out to Chaya for their Omakase Kinkaku. The last time we were there (March 2009) we kept seeing yummy tasty stuff coming out to the table next to us and when we asked them about it, they told us that was what they had ordered ( Read more... )

OH.

First, I am so jealous.

The minty leaf was likely shiso, which is related to mint [and basil, so I avoid it like the plague].

I've had the mini-kaiseki a few times before at Chaya, which was delightful, but this sounds even more yum. When I get back, youse must go again and force me to come along.

Ahh... That makes sense. I tried it. Tom did not (shock).

I'm sure that we can be convinced to go to Chaya again. I'm not sure that we are willing to spring for the Omakase again any time soon. It appears that the current cycle is once every 5 years :)
