Krysti's Lyric Quote of the Day & Mini-Update

Jul 24, 2004 17:01

"When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: 'My God, how great Thou art!'"

We all went to the Golden Lion last night for the punk show and got to see Schoolyard Heroes. Megan and I both got practically hit on by the chick singing (who, by the way, has a hell of a set of lungs). I got a CD and all 4 of them signed it and the bass guitarist gave me a button =] I hadn't eaten since breakfast and Erica suggested we be old and drink (this was before the first of the three bands even went on) so I went with it, not thinking of the empty stomach I would be putting the alcohol into. 1 1/2 drinks and nearly 3 hours of being weird and I was still buzzing when we got ready to leave. Last night was the first time I've ever driven when I probably shouldn't have (and if I hadn't lived so close, I wouldn't have)...so I was very careful and very paranoid, but Paul followed right behind me all the way to my house and then came in and hung out for a little while. I gave him the 'grand tour' of the house and then we watched random AMV stuff on my computer and chatted while my cats worked on getting white cat hair all over his black pants ;D. I kept losing my balance (way to be me) cause by that point I was still slightly buzzing and dead tired from only getting 4 hours of sleep earlier o_o I crashed shortly after Paul drove off and when Sarah called me from work she said she had to call back *numerous* times to get me to answer...I know I helped her, eventually, but I also know I was rambling at her and having to correct myself to the point that I don't remember what the problems she called me about were.

So if you read this, Paul ~ thank you for being a sweetheart =]

By all rights I shouldn't be up right now...but I napped earlier this morning and then got up late for Victor's wake. I had the carrot cake in my fridge (since its practically empty) and mom called to see where I was...er...whoops.

It was good to see so many people there. He will be missed by those of us who knew him. He was a very proud man and I am glad, in a way, that he passed on before his Alzheimer's had fully set in. I believe he was 97. He served in the Air Force at the same time as Ronald Reagan did. He has one sibling still living, his older sister who recently turned 100 (Victor was upset that they wouldn't let him go to her party in Chicago). He has no children and was never married from what I know.

My Grandmother's birthday is today as well. She turned 78. I can only imagine how hard today was for her, tho, since Victor had been close to the family since my mom was little. Victor had been her close companion for quite a few years after my grandad died, and I'm sure she's missing Victor terribly...especially today.
