I would say it's been rather quiet around without Ohtori here, but...it's actually been a bit more noisy. His fiance has been hanging around almost since Ohtori left. With his almost constant frequent growling and grumbling, he is more than making up for the amount of noise we're losing.
Ryoma does seem to miss him, though. I'm glad for that, because I had worried that the feline and canine in them would have them constantly at odds with each other.
I do hope Ohtori is enjoying himself while he's gone.
Technically, Jin-san is ours, now...though the methods are a little questionable. Grandmother told me that she spotted him being chased by guards and caught him herself, then pretended she was his owner in order to protect him from them. This got her into the interesting predicament that if anyone went to check on her statement, there would be no paperwork. So she had Grandfather...essentially forge a set of documents to support her claim that she is Jin's owner, that he was a gift from Grandfather as she told the guards. She also gave Jin a collar, simply so he would have it if he decided to use it to keep himself from being locked up. But we did not officially buy him.
I find myself torn. The Guard in me wishes she hadn't told me, and rather disapproves of the methods used in this. But the human in me is glad for it. Jin will be safe from scrutiny this way, and while I cannot say I am particularly fond of him at this point, Ohtori very much is, and I know he will appreciate that we are keeping Jin safe in the best way we know how.
