thats right, i got into an accident with an ambulance. And no, the lights weren't on, and no, it wasn't filled with dying/bleeding people.
but honestly, who gets into an accident with an off-duty ambulance? yup, i do.
For those of you who don't already know the story:
i was on my way home from dance on tuesday, around 8:30, and i was going through the intersection near Milford Hospital. I had made it through the intersection and was going the speed limit, with my lights one, doing everything correctly, when i saw an off-duty ambulance near the exit to the hospital, but it looked like it was just trying to find a parking space, so i kept driving. Then as i got closer, i saw that the ambulance was going to try to exit the hospital, but i knew that i had the right of way and that the ambulance guy had a stop sign, so i continued to drive. However, the ambulance man didn't exactly stop. and he hit me.
Now, when i say hit i really mean "tapped" but because ambulances are so big, it put a fairly large dent (somewhat crater shaped) into the discovery (which is a pretty big car. good thing i wasn't driving something little). But the police man said that it wasn't my fault, and that it wouldn't affect my permit, so thumbs up for that.
Then i had to tell lou about my little accident today during my driving hour. he agrees that it wasn't my fault and says i should be fine. I still get to go for my license on november 6th, and if the registry flags me then we deal with it then. But im really really really hoping they wont.
