Turkish Delights

I just got back from a Bosporus boat ride that Adil's cousin and husband organized in order to celebrate their birthday. It was really fun, and the views from the Anatolian and European sides of the river were so beautiful. Pictures forthcoming.
I tried my first Turkish dessert last night, and I must admit... I was disappointed! It was this bread-like rectangle soaked in syrup. Adil, however, did admit that it was not really up to par, but I am starting to suspect that he perhaps is a bit biased towards the desserts of his country of origin. However I am willing to persevere in order to find out the truth!
