Last post for a bit

Hello friends!  First, I’d like to give you all the address for my blog about India: http://indianinadventures.blogspot.com/.  I decided not to put it on livejournal only because I wanted to try something different.  There’s already one post on it.  This may or may not be my last livejournal post, but I will try to post everyday or at least as often as I can from India in my other blog!  Stay tuned in to my Indian Inadventures…

But for now, an update on my cold, cold life in Japan.  Did I mention it’s cold here?  I think, though, that I’m better prepared for it than I was last year because that fall was taken up by repairing my broken jaw and adjusting to normalcy, and so I wasn’t in a good state physically or mentally for the onslaught of winter.  This year, though, armed with two electric blankets, a better kerosene heater and a healthier, happier me I think I won’t complain quite as much.  Even though I started off this paragraph with a complaint (I swear it’ll be my last…for this entry!).

Since Glen has left for the lovely land of Paul McCartney and smashed peas, I have mainly been trying to keep myself busy, preparing for my trip to India and my future in general.  Tuesday I went out to dinner with a Japanese friend of mine, and then yesterday there was a Blade Runner night at my friend’s place aptly called “Who’s Sci-Fi?  Nacho Sci-Fi!” (I came up with the name), today it was the longest Thursday ever and I haven't packed yet, and finally tomorrow is Friday when Nicole and I will probably be celebrating out imminent departure to India on Saturday.  Whoppie!  The days at school are much MUCH less interesting even than those little things, with me just trying to look busy writing a lesson plan, but actually just typing a lj entry on word.  Ahem.

Let me tell you now about my future plans (pie charts, growth rates, inflation/deflation tables to come out soon).  I plan on going to grad school somewhere in Europe after JET - particularly I plan on going to this one university in Germany.  It’s the only school I’ve found so far that has really appealed to me, but I need to find some more.  I should have found some more already because application deadlines are looming, and because if I set my heart on going to one place I’m almost bound to be rejected.  Anyone willing to read and critique an essay when I’m done with it, hopefully this week?  I fear I am out of practice in writing essays.  Wish me luck…

What are you doing with your future??

And now, back to reading the newspaper and drinking green tea J
