1. Decided to make active efforts to leave current job and city.
2. Get interview with well-respected firm on the coast.
3. Interview on three different occasions.
4. Receive offer.
5. Commence brief negotiation.
6. Conclude negotiation by accepting offer.
7. Background check commences.
Now step #8 is for the damn background check to freakin' finish and then for me to tell the firm. It's been almost a week. Seriously. I have two episodes (one of which is minor but sticks in my craw even after 14 years, so it bugs me and one of which is admittedly more serious but goes back even further) of which I'm not especially proud, but not in a million years (*knocks on wood*) could I see these being an issue. I need to tell the firm I'm leaving. I have clients making appointments to start new projects. I need to call the freaking moving company. I need to find an interim place to live. I need to let my mortgage company know.
Seriously.
