ok.
My three weeks on Cyprus (July, 2008).
Most of the time I have spent in the capital of Cyprus - Nicosia (Lefcosia).
Through skype I managed to find a very nice person called Das. He helped me a lot with info and finding a place to live for three weeks. It was not an easy task, because most landlords want 12 month contracts from tenants. However, we both managed to find a very nice studio flat in Latsia area.
By the way, special thanks to Vera Svetlorusova for letting me stay in her studio for such a short time and for being a very nice person (greetings to Vadim and Vera's husband)!
Also a big thanks to Mike (Das' friend) who greeted me with a warm welcome at airport!
I had an opportunity to see a little how one of the most successful audit companies operate. Through this experience I was lucky to meet a lot of nice, helpful and interesting people: Alex, Christos and Andonis (football organiser :) ), Lisa C., Costas K., Oleg M., Georgii (beer still in the plan), Tanya (good luck with finishing your studies) and many others
Usually, I was moving around by bus (1.20 EUR one way), BUT it is pain in A*#. It seemed that timetable exist only for a passenger who has a watch. A bus driver though does not have a watch and trust his feeling whether it is time to go or not.
:)
From
2008_07_Nicos... Sometimes I was using taxi to get to town and back, due to buses stop working after 6pm. Mostly, I was using this taxi phone number - 22763763. Drivers were usually late, but quick on the road. Twice they even went on the red ignoring other traffic... From/To Latsia - city centre is about 10-11 Euro.
While being on Cyprus, I have managed to see these cities:
2008_07_Nicosia, Cyprus
2008_07_Kyrenia, Cyprus
