Avatar Finale

I suppose I'll join the throng in having an Avatar reaction post. Although, I feel so emotionally spent after just watching it that all I want to do is curl up on my bed for awhile and digest. And maybe write a little drabble... remember, I have that whole trouble thing about endings? -_-;;

So, since I'm, as aforementioned, emotionally spent, this is a copy-paste of a comment I made in one of rawles's lovely reaction posts.

I completely agree. Avatar is so much, SO MUCH more than a kid's show. It's a true jewel. It connects with us on a deep, personal, emotional level, and I know exactly what you mean when you talk about how we've all invested in it. It's like they're our own friends, our own family -- we've followed them through their struggles and happy times and awkward times and times when they were trying to figure out who they were and what they wanted (and I'm not just talking about Zuko here).

There's no describing, as I'm sure you know, feeling the kind of pride I did when I saw Zuko stand proud in front of his people at the coronation, accepting who he was and how he'd changed, accepting the huge and monumental task that lay ahead of him. Or feeling the sadness and pity when watching Azula self-destruct into paranoia and madness, a broken woman.

All the characters have become real people to us. It's a wonderful and beautiful thing, and I am completely on your side against all people who want to degrade it to something on the level of fanfiction or shipping wars or character bashing. >.< It's completely inappropriate and inexcusable, and I'd much prefer it if they'd all stay on THAT side of the internet. Let me love my show in peace. That's really all I ask.

In conclusion: I am very proud of my show. Yes. Very proud. ^_^
