The Rules of Shotgun:
When I say car, i mean anything that can be shotgunned. Like sleeping locations in a hotel, order to do something (skydive, water ski, etc).
1. Shotgun can only be called when the trip to the car is initiated. You CAN NOT call it in advance for anything. (i.e. - Shotgun. and shotgun on the way back)
2. There is no limit to how many times one person can get shotgun. If someone just happens to be damned good at calling it, sucks to be anyone else.
3. If someone needs to take shotgun for the good of the tribe (like the only one who can read the map), shotgun should be given up, no questions asked.
4. In the event of two people calling shotgun at the same time, the first to name a more specific type wins. (i.e. .22 gauge, sawed-off)
5. If there is yet another tie, rock paper scissors rules.
6. Shotgun is to be re-called every time the driver OR the passenger leaves his seat. It does not have to be both, or everyone in the car.
7. In the event of car sickness, the puker will receive shotgun rights but only if they puke twice in a 15 minute period. Rights last at minimum one hour. After that rule 6 applys.
Asshole Clause:
In the event that the driver's girlfriend is riding, normal shotgun rules still apply. However anyone who takes shotgun from said girlfriend is officially labled an "asshole".
Brute Force Clause:
If you can physically remove someone from the front seat, or push them out of the way before they sit down, you win. Teaming up is allowed and encouraged to take care of Rule #2.
Driver's Rights:
The driver has the right to overrule any shotgun calls. So don't piss the driver off. Driver beware...showing favoritism could result in being barred from shotgun position in others cars.
Shotgunner's Rights: The shotgunner is in the position because he is better, faster, stronger, or sicker than you. He does not have to endure taunts, torments, seat kicking, or cold-shouldering. Violating this right can result in expulsion from the car.
