The ridiculous foreign travel options

There are some crazy things that happen at work, but this is definitely one of the better ones. Our foreign trip process has been described as a "short detail to work for the international inspections branch" rather than what would normally be described as a single trip. For the program area I work in this typically takes the form of a trip split between Canada and somewhere else on the planet.

The newest set of trips includes one for two inspections, two weeks: Poland and Taiwan. Why those two are on the same trip certainly begs for explanations, given the geography...

Too bad I can't honestly volunteer for that one with my current schedule. Two places I'd love to visit (even if it's for work with no time for sightseeing) and a trip worth talking about just for the destinations.

Taiwan is rather interesting just by itself, it's the only place we do official work on personal passports. The reasons should be obvious.

just silly
