Omnomnom (for je_nesaisquoi)

Kowalski slid down in the seat, jeans dragging over plastic leather and let his knees fall open, promptly nudging Maggie in the thigh. He apologised with a smile - there was just something about diners that made him want to slouch. Sure, he did that all the time anyway but he was taking advantage of it now just because he could. He'd been expecting a restaurant where he'd have to sit up, stuff a napkin down his shirt, use his cutlery in the right hands. But Fraser had driven them into town and parked a little way away and when the diner had come into view, he'd turned and smiled and told Vecchio and him that he hoped this would make them feel more at home.

Kowalski had jumped the guy. In a non-sexual way. Slung his arm over his shoulder and sauntered in with the Mountie next to him like they owned the place.

He'd snagged the spot opposite Vecchio, patted the space next to him for Maggie and was now doing his impression of a melting snowman right there at the table, limbs all over the place. Fraser was telling them how caribou burgers were so much healthier than normal American beef burgers on account of the fact...

Kowalski mighta zoned out at that part; Fraser seemed to notice and bent his head more towards Vecchio next to him as he spoke. Ray smiled a little, jiggled a knee and in his bid to take up almost the entire booth, unconsciously stretched an arm out behind Maggie, thumb rubbing the leather by her shoulder.
