january wrap up, what's to come in february

this is my third attempt to write this damn entry!

January:

Nothing extremely significant happened in January.  It was a long month, but at the same time it went by pretty quickly.  I suppose Cisco and I unofficially stopped seeing each other, considering he completely disappeared without a trace.  Work has been the same, tedious bullshit as always.  I had four days off the entire month, including today, which I have off after a 12-day run.  I've mainly been hanging out with Chili's people, which is the same as always, although the group is slightly different than it used to be.  I have heard from two law schools:  I got rejected from University of Minnesota and accepted to Hamline University with a partial scholarship.

February:

So far February doesn't look super exciting or anything.  Holocaust Awareness Week is during the end of February.  Yes, even though I'm not a student anymore, I'm still helping out, and it's fun.  Raleigh turns 2 at the end of the month and Matt turns 21.  My puppy and my baby brother are all grown up!  Hopefully I'll keep hearing from law school and hopefully I'll keep getting into law schools.

I have, however, crawled out of my little cave and decided to start going to shows again.  So here's a tentative list of shows I'm going to/interested in going to:

Concert Calendar:

1/31:  Action Action at Bluebird  probably not going because I told my friend Sarah I'd watch Napoleon Dynamite with her tonight

2/1:  The Thermals at Larimer Lounge  absolutely best venue in Denver, going, bought tickets

2/2:  Starlight Mints at Larimer Lounge  have tickets and am going, so are Chris and Steve so it should be all fun and dandy

2/6:  Matchbook Romance at Ogden  not going, I ended up picking up a shift that night.  Plus it's Super Bowl Sunday.  Yeah, I managed to somehow pick up a shift during the Super Bowl.  How smart of me.

2/9:  Interpol at Fillmore  bought tickets already.  Meeting up with Chris and Rachel, Sarah is most likely coming too.  should be a sweet show.  also will be my first show at the Fillmore

2/11:  Social Distortion at Fillmore  i would absolutely love to go to this show.  Unfortunately I don't know my schedule for this night and won't until the Tuesday before.  And by then, even if I do somehow have the night off, the show will probably be sold out.  However, if the show is neither sold out nor am I working, I will definitely go to this show

2/12:  Guttermouth at the Fox  this would be a really fun show and I'll probably go if I'm not working.  was talking about it with Reed, our bartender, last night and he may be going too

2/14:  Guttermouth at Climax Lounge  gives me a second chance to see them if i don't get to see them in boulder, but will probably end up working this night since it would seem apparent to my scheduling manager that i wouldn't have any plans on valentine's day

2/15:  Straylight Run at Rock Island  would definitely like to see this show, if not working

2/16:  Hidden in Plain View at Rock Island  would be an interesting show to see, but more interested in going to the other show tonight

2/16:  Eisley at Larimer Lounge  have bought tickets to this show, will be going with Chris and Steve

2/17:  Rise Against and Tsunami Bomb at Gothic  may go to this show, was talking about it with Reed

2/26:  Relient K at Aztlan  probably won't go to this show.  not a big fan of the Aztlan.  but still a possibility

2/27:  Sugarcult at Bluebird  my guilty pleasure band.  probably won't go, but, on the other hand, i haven't seen them since 2000

2/28:  Hot Hot Heat at Fox  most definitely planning on going, in fact i'm buying my tickets next time i'm in boulder

and that wraps up my tentative plans for February.  we'll see how that goes...in another month i'll either be burned out on shows or just starting to get back into the groove of things.  my theory is that i've got to go out and have all the fun now before i spend the next three years in law school.
