Wicked review - Broadway - February 20, 2007
I honestly thought it would not be very good; boy was I wrong!
Elphaba (Julia Murney) - She was soo much better than Idina Menzel (I even told her that)! Sure it took me a while to warm up to her, but once I did, she was perfect! Just not quite as perfect as Shoshana Bean.
G(a)linda (Kendra Kassebaum) - Once again it took me a while to warm up to her, (she's no Megan Hilty) but, again, once I did she was amazing. The only thing I didn't like was when, during, "Popular" she didn't do the thing where she goes, "I know, thats what makes me so nice," and then the orchestra goes bing and she sways to the side like an angel.
Fiyero (Sebastian Arcelus) - His performance was so-so, but when I met him at the stage door, he was sooo mean! He just hung out with the Swedish girls.
Boq (Logan Lipton) - He was a bit off in "Dancing Through Life," but, unlike Sebastian, he was soo nice to me, we could have talked for hours!
I can't really remember the rest of the cast, but I do remember saying to the guy that played The Wizard, "If it were not for you, 'The Wizard of Oz' would be The of Oz!"
All together I give the show 8 out of 10 broomsticks!
