Hereditary
angioedema. Mom and I think I have it. Never got any blood tests done or anything, but we still think that's what it is. My mom said she's had the symptoms before, hence why we think it's the hereditary variety.
Not often, but sometimes parts of me swell. A couple years ago in AK (usually after going for walks out in quiet freezing winter nights), I swelled up a couple times. Once on my leg, maybe the size of a quarter. Then another time on my chin maybe the size of a dime.
And it's back. It's been a few years. It's always been triggered before from cold, so I imagine it's the wind chill from riding my bike to prayer this morning that did it. It's nothing serious (though if it really is HAE it potentially could be according to medical websites) and you can't see it unless I make my face all tight, but today I developed some more chin swelling. It's kind of fun. And it kind of makes sense, because angioedema is apparently an immune thing, and we already know that my immune system is whack since it just went and declared jihad on my pancreas.
And this isn't another poor pitiful me and my medical problems kind of post. It's just interesting. And I really do think it's kind of fun. What's more crazy and random than your chin swelling up out of nowhere every couple years?
And. This:
