When I'm...
Confident
It was hot and loud and Yoochun and Junsu were nowhere to be found.
"He's staring at you."
Jaejoong searched through the hordes of people dancing, talking and grinding in the crowd. Oh, there were Yoochun and Junsu. "No, he's glaring. And for good reason, too. I took his beer." He sipped from the glass he'd stolen.
Yunho scooted closer to him in the booth. "Not Changmin. That guy."
Jaejoong squinted but this side of the club was pretty dimly lit. "I don't see-"
"The cheesy douche in the leather pants. He's leering."
Jaejoong spotted him immediately. He smiled, nodding. "Mmm, totally my type."
Yunho took his drink from him and set it back on the table. "If you get wasted and I catch you in an alley pressed against cold brick and moaning-"
"My, you've had this fantasy for quite some time." Jaejoong grinned wickedly, taking his drink back.
"Jae..." Yunho said warningly.
But he just laughed. "I'm the hottest guy in the club, baby. You're going to have to deal with some stares."
Yunho looked at him with a barely contained smile. "You're loving this, aren't you?"
Jaejoong shrugged innocently, sipping from Changmin's drink. "What are you gonna do about it?"
"What do you want me to do?" Yunho teased.
Jaejoong snuggled closer til his breath just barely ghosted Yunho's neck the way he liked. "You're gonna have to stake your claim. Show every man in here I'm taken."
"Happily taken." Yunho murmured deeply in Jaejoong's ear.
Jaejoong's hand slid up Yunho's thigh as he hummed into his neck. "You can't take your eyes off me for a second."
"Mm-hmm." Yunho had taken to kissing Jaejoong's ear.
"Because as soon as you go to the bathroom, someone hotter than you is going to scoop me up."
Yunho slouched back with a groan while Jaejoong laughed. "Damn, that guy is still staring at you. Shit, he's coming over here."
Waving like his boyfriend wasn't sitting right beside him, Jaejoong smiled flirtatiously. "Better act fast."
"Why do you torture me like this?" Yunho groaned. "Fine. Go dance with the cheesy douche. See if I care."
"Mm, I would like to dance with the second hottest guy in the room."
Jaejoong got up as soon as the man had stopped at their table. But he turned and pulled Yunho up with him, gliding by the man with a coy smile and dragged Yunho to the dance floor.
They danced for a while because Yunho was good at it and Jaejoong looked good doing it next to him. They even found Yoochun and Junsu somewhere in the mix and even Changmin who seemed to have forgiven Jaejoong's theft in favor of some guy he'd found who managed to match his height.
When they lost their friends again, Jaejoong wrapped his arms around Yunho's neck and kissed him in the middle of the dance floor.
When they pulled apart, they were slowly gliding to a fast song but neither cared. Yunho grazed Jaejoong's cheek with the back of his hand. "Now everyone's staring at me."
"Cause you're with me." Jaejoong teased.
Yunho grinned goofily. "I'm the luckiest man alive."
Jaejoong didn't know exactly how to say he was wrong. He was the luckiest.
Confused
"YUUUUUUUUUNNIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!"
Yunho appeared around the corner, eyebrow raised. "Yes, Joongie?"
Jaejoong was sprawled out on the couch, arm slung over his face in his pajamas, a robe and the goofiest looking socks he owned. Junsu had given them to him as a joke. They had duckies all over them and they squeaked when he walked. But they were warm.
Jaejoong sniffled. "My chest hurts, my throat hurts, my face hurts, my feet hurt, my....body hurts, I'm gonna throw up, I can't breathe and I think I'm hallucinating."
Yunho paused. "So...you want a foot rub?"
"I'd throw a pillow at you but my head hurts and I need it."
Yunho smiled as he sat on the couch and kissed his forehead. "Where's your medicine?"
"I don't knooooooooow."
When Yunho came back ten minutes later after searching the kitchen only to find the bottle of pills had been stowed away in the refrigerator for some reason, he returned with the medicine and a glass of water.
Yunho handed the bottle to him. "I suggest you gargle with salt water."
Wrestling with the bottle cap, Jaejoong squinted at him through a mess of hair. "Ew, why?"
"It's supposed to soothe your throat."
Jaejoong pouted while he continued to struggle with the stubborn bottle. "I don't wanna. I wanna cough drop that tastes like candy. Riiiicolaaaaa-"
He broke off into an abrupt coughing fit. His coughing fit was broken off by a sudden squeal he was surprised he'd managed given his sore throat as he chucked the medicine bottle across the room. "WHY won't that stupid thing open?!"
Yunho patiently fetched the bottle and returned to the side of the couch. All it took was one twist and the cap was off.
Jaejoong stared like he'd just produced a magic rainbow bunny from a hat. "I think I'm hallucinating again. Oh god, you're not even in my apartment, are you?"
Smiling warmly, Yunho pressed a pill into Jaejoong's hand and gave him the glass of water. "It's child-locked, baby."
"No, it's not." Jaejoong said grumpily, swallowing the pill. "I'm not a child. It's just a mean son of a bitch that wants me to die."
Suddenly, Yunho's lips were pressed against Jaejoong's in a brief kiss. When he pulled back, barely inches away, he smiled. "No, it's Jae-locked."
Jaejoong pouted but his heart was melting. "I hope you get sick."
He did.
But Yunho managed to open his own medicine bottle. And nobody makes chicken noodle soup like Jaejoong.
Excited
Jaejoong bounded into the living room and flopped on the couch. "Guess what, guess what!"
"Whoa, baby, I'm watching the game." Yunho did a double-take. "When did you get in here?"
"I know you know I know where your spare key is, Yunho~"
"Think you could make more noise next time?"
Jaejoong looked at him innocently. "I did. I said 'guess what, guess what' pretty loudly."
Yunho grumbled but shifted on the couch til Jaejoong was comfortably lying on his chest anyway and continued to watch the game.
Jaejoong watched Yunho quietly. "You still haven't guessed."
"What...?" Yunho asked distractedly.
"Guess what happened."
Yunho watched the screen tensely. "Mm, you went-DAMMIT, JISUNG!"
Jaejoong rolled his eyes. "No, I did not go dammit Jisung. Want a hint?"
Yunho grunted. Jaejoong wasn't sure if it was for him or the TV. "It's about Yoochun and Junsu."
"Yeah..."
"It's really, really awesome, so you have to guess!"
"Uh-huh."
Jaejoong huffed. "Baby, if you don't listen to me, I'm not sleeping over tonight."
Yunho finally looked at him. "I was totally listening the whole time."
Jaejoong sighed. "Guess what happened to Yoochun and Junsu."
His eyes darted between Jaejoong's face and the TV screen. "Um, they moved?"
"Yes," Jaejoong nodded with a straight face. "They moved. To Canada. And that's why I came in here all excited to tell you the good freaking news that two of our best friends in the whole world just LEFT THE COUNTRY."
Yunho grimaced. "Can't this wait til commercial?"
Jaejoong started to get up. "I dunno. Yoochun might get eaten by a moose in Yukon Territory by then."
Sighing, Yunho grabbed Jaejoong's hand. "Okay, okay, I'm seriously listening now." Lucky for him, a commercial was already on.
With an exasperated sigh, Jaejoong shot Yunho a brief glare. "GUESS what happened to Yoochun and Junsu."
Yunho blinked. "You seriously want me to guess? That's usually a rhetorical question."
Jaejoong glared.
"Okay, okay!" Yunho flinched. "Um, they got a dog."
Jaejoong beamed. "Close."
"Cat?"
"Nope."
"Giraffe?" Yunho shook his head. "That's a mistake. Their apartment's not that big."
Jaejoong smacked him.
"Ow! Well, what is it?!" Yunho rubbed the sting in his arm away.
Jaejoong grinned broadly. "A baby."
Yunho stared. "I thought that wasn't physically possible. Man, science really caught up with us. So, who grew a uterus? I bet it was Junsu. No, wait! Yoochun could rock a vagina."
Jaejoong smacked him again. "They adopted, you moron. Twins from Morocco."
Yunho nodded with interest. "That's great. Congrats to them. I suspect you'll be throwing them a huge par-"
"I'm gonna throw them the biggest baby shower mankind has ever seen!" Jaejoong's eyes glittered.
Yunho laughed and lay back down, pulling Jaejoong back on top of him as the game returned to the screen. They watched in silence for a while with just the sounds of the announcers and the fans cheering from the TV.
"Can we adopt Changmin?" Jaejoong asked offhandedly.
Yunho chuckled but said nothing.
Jaejoong stared at the screen unseeingly for a moment. "We can love him and take care of him. And if he lets us, we can feed and bathe him."
"Mm-hm."
"It'd probably be weird if he just went back and forth between his parents' houses. A child needs stability."
Eyes glued to the screen, Yunho didn't even humor him with a response this time.
Jaejoong continued quietly. "So...we'd probably have to move in together. For the baby's sake."
Yunho yawned, absent-mindedly combing his fingers through Jaejoong's hair.
"I'll cook as long as you'll clean." Jaejoong played with a button on Yunho's shirt. "And you can watch soccer for as long as you want in the living room. As long as you talk to me during commercials-"
"GOOOOAAAAAL!!!" Yunho suddenly punched the air in victory.
Later that night as he lay alone in bed, Yunho wondered why Jaejoong didn't sleep over.
Insecure
"You're an idiot."
"But what if he's not that into me?" Jaejoong whined as he avoided a woman with a cart full of beer and candy as she turned onto the poultry aisle. "What if...he doesn't think of us as a serious couple?"
Junsu picked up two baby bottles off the shelf to compare. "If you really think that, you're delusional."
"Then why hasn't Yunho asked me to move in with him yet?" Jaejoong began to pace anxiously. "I've been hinting for forever and...nothing."
Junsu returned one bottle to the shelf and put the other in the cart and continued down the aisle to examine the diapers. "Maybe he's nervous."
"Why?!" Jaejoong sputtered. "I'm perfectly willing. I mean, when we were first dating, I let him in my pants almost immediately."
Junsu suddenly turned to him. "Don't EVER talk to my children about sex."
"But-"
"EVER." He glared him down til Jaejoong pouted in silence. "Especially not my little girl."
"...So am I still a godfather?"
Junsu sighed. "They already have two fathers, why not three godfathers?"
Jaejoong hugged him.
Once they let go, Junsu continued pushing the cart down the aisle. "And if you slip them beer before they're old enough, I will castrate you."
:::::
"I just don't want to freak him out if I ask."
"Shhhhhhhhhhh!" Yoochun hissed.
They paused for a moment in silence, Yoochun peaking warily around the corner. "Okay." He sighed. "They're still asleep. Keep your voice down."
"Okay." Jaejoong whispered. "So, what do you think I should do?"
"How long have you two been together?"
"Almost two years."
Yoochun eyed him incredulously. "So, how haven't you two moved in already? Didn't you put out before your first date or something?"
"No!"
"Shhhh!"
"Sorry..." Jaejoong mumbled. "No... That was just a blowjob. It was just there, so... We didn't do it til the third date. Or second....or something...." Jaejoong trailed off, clearing his throat.
"How did that happen again?" Yoochun wondered.
"Somehow the coffee shop closed up and forgot we were in there. So, we had sex on the table."
"Nice." Yoochun high-fived him with a mischievous grin.
Jaejoong smiled a little. "It just...happened. Chemistry and all that jazz."
Yoochun nodded. "I designate you as the official story-teller so my kids can know all the wild, crazy stories we had back in the day."
"Kay!" Jaejoong agreed happily.
"And who better to teach them how to drink than my best drinking buddy Jae?" Yoochun gazed at Jaejoong proudly.
Jaejoong nodded, excited for a moment, then paused. "Are you sure Junsu won't mind?"
Yoochun waved dismissively. "He'll be fine."
"So..." Jaejoong fiddled with his hands. "What do you think? Is Yunho ever going to ask me?"
Yoochun thought for a moment. "I think-"
He was interrupted by a high-pitched whine coming from down the hall. Yoochun was up in a flash with a bottle and a rattle.
Jaejoong watched him fondly. It was going to be wild ride.
:::::
"...and I just love him so much and I just want to share everything with him but how do I know he feels the same way? I know we semi live together already but it's not the same as making that first commitment and sharing a set of keys. Things are fine now but if we take such a huge step, it's all gonna change. I mean, I know we moved pretty fast in the beginning but then we started to cool off and slow down and I started imagining a future with him, with what Yoochun and Junsu have and I just feel like we'll be so happy but I don't know if he's thinking as far ahead as me or if I'm just a raving lunatic. I mean, why else hasn't he asked me to live with him? What do you think?"
Changmin stared at him. Stood up. "Get out of my house and just fucking do it already."
Jaejoong stared back, mouth agape.
Changmin left the kitchen grumbling. "Idiot pours his guts out to me about stupid ass invisible problems making me miss my episode of Running Man. My grandpa's turtle moves faster than these idiots. Hell, it's smarter, too. Dumbasses..."
:::::
Jaejoong was pacing in front of Yunho's apartment door. He didn't want to take too long since Changmin was waiting in the parking lot with his stuff. He'd bribed him with lunch and twenty dollars to help him out. But if Changmin got too impatient, he'd drive off with Jaejoong's Xbox.
If this failed, Jaejoong could just pretend to shrug it off and go back to his apartment to unpack all his stuff in tears without Yunho ever knowing. But if Yunho agreed, well...surprise.
Jaejoong knocked and waited. Then he knocked again. Then he banged on the door til one of Yunho's neighbors peeked out to shut him up. Jaejoong found the spare key and let himself in.
The couch, the television, the shoes at the door, the picture of his sisters, the old water jug filled with quarters-everything was gone.
Jaejoong surveyed the completely bare room shocked beyond speech. Before he could wrap his mind around the flood of thoughts cascading through his head, his pants started vibrating. He took out his phone. Yunho was calling.
"Hello? Yunho, what the hell...?"
"Jae? Where are you?"
Jaejoong swallowed, not sure what to think. Had Yunho already run away from him? But he hadn't even asked yet. "Um, at your place. Is there something you forgot to tell me? Like maybe you're a fugitive on the run from the government...or something?"
"What are you talking about? Where's your stuff?"
Jaejoong frowned. "Where's your stuff?"
Jaejoong heard Yunho sigh on the other line. "Baby, I'm at your apartment and it's virtually empty. What's going on?"
Jaejoong shook his head. "Wait, you're at my apartment?"
"Yeah, I guess we missed each other. I mean, do you want me to go ahead and move my stuff in or are you remodeling or something?"
"Well, I..." Jaejoong lost his breath so quickly, he nearly choked a little. "Wait...you're moving into my place?"
"Yeah, Jae. Isn't that what you wanted? I'm pretty sure Min won't let us adopt him but I could definitely live with your cooking every day."
After a brief moment of silence, Jaejoong dissolved into hysterical laughter. He couldn't quite figure out exactly what was so funny and neither could Yunho's annoyed neighbor. Was it that they either had the worst timing in the world or the best? Or maybe because Changmin was right?
Jaejoong drove back home with a grumbling Changmin in tow and kissed Yunho so long, they barely had enough time to unpack all their stuff before night fell.
Dominant
There was a mountain of miscellaneous pots and pans littering the kitchen counter and stove. Yunho and Jaejoong stared at it.
"Yunho, what is this?"
Yunho shook his head. "We need more storage space."
Jaejoong glowered. "No, my stuff fits perfectly. Your stuff has to go."
"But my mom bought those!"
"We agreed!" Jaejoong cried exasperatedly. "I cook, you clean. We both know I'm an amazing cook. And you're never going to see those pots and pans again, so what's the big deal?"
"But-"
"No!" Jaejoong marched over to the fridge and opened it. "And what is all this?" He flailed at its contents.
Yunho peered, confused. "I don't-"
"You've got the new, unopened milk in front of the old milk."
Yunho stared at him like he'd grown an extra head. "...So? Just reach around the new milk to get to the-"
"Just do what I say!" With that, Jaejoong stomped away leaving Yunho utterly speechless.
Jaejoong's voice echoed from the bathroom. "Are you showering with me or what?!"
Yunho had to smile as he switched the milk cartons and closed the fridge.
Angry
Jaejoong spilled through the door, laughing as an equally drunk Yoochun clumsily pat him on the back.
"Oh my god, just like in college, bitch." Jaejoong crooned.
Yoochun leaned on Junsu who struggled to hold all his body weight. "Don't you ever change, you wondrous motherfucker."
Jaejoong's laugh turned into a hiccup. "Su...Su, tell your babysitter...I love her. Or him."
Junsu just nodded with a smile. "Bye, Jae."
"Bye-bye, Joongie!" Yoochun sang.
Jaejoong closed the door and shouted his goodbye a bit belatedly but that was okay. He was headed for the bedroom or the shower, which was first when a light in the living room flickered on.
Jaejoong squinted til his eyes adjusted to the light. "Yunnie? Why are you up, baby? Did I wake you?"
Yunho sat on the couch, arms crossed, legs crossed. Stiff.
Jaejoong stumbled toward the couch. "Couldn't sleep, baby? Did joo have a nightmare? Let mama kiss it away~"
Jaejoong reached for him but Yunho flinched away, face cold and hard.
Jaejoong curled up on the couch next to him. "Wus wrong?"
Yunho stared forward. "Is your phone dead?"
Jaejoong chuckled, pulling his cell out of his pocket. "Noo, silly. Iss alive righ' here."
Yunho shot him an icy stare. "Then why didn't you call me? Just give me any excuse. I'm sure I'll believe it."
That look sent shivers down Jaejoong's spine, enough for him to realize this was serious. Jaejoong blinked, confused as he tried to shake the drunken haze away. "Tell me what's wrong. I'll fix it."
Yunho exhaled slowly through his nose before finally speaking quietly. "We haven't been living together long, Jaejoong. And already you've got me worried sick and proving what a selfish bastard you are."
Jaejoong's eyes were flashing now. "Excuse me? Have you been drinking?" Jaejoong glanced at the near empty bottle of wine on the coffee table. "Because the Yunho I know wouldn't call me names without expecting a slap to the face."
Yunho suddenly stood up. "The Jaejoong I know wouldn't stay out so late without letting me know he wasn't dead."
Jaejoong tried to stand up but the world began to spin, so he sat back down. "Yoochun invited me out! What, do you want me to say no just because we're living together?"
"Well, why didn't you invite me?"
"You were working, you..." Jaejoong hissed, trying to get a handle on the fuzzy words coming out of his mouth. "But I never ambushed you in the living room when...when...you come home late."
"I never come home at 4am!"
"I was just out with Yoochun and Junsu!" Jaejoong cried in exasperation. "Tell me what this is really about."
Yunho glared at the other in silence, arms crossed, the dim light casting unsettling shadows over his face. "Who else was there?"
Jaejoong blinked. "What? I just said Yoochun and-"
"No." Yunho snapped. "Who did you meet? Just tell me, Jaejoong. It would make it a whole lot easier for me. Even if you just flirted a little. Because I'll be a thousand times more pissed if I find out later from someone else."
As Jaejoong stared at him, he almost laughed. "You think I cheated on you?"
Yunho threw his hands up. "I don't know what you call cheating. Where does it end with you, hmm? Flirting? Touching? Dancing a little bit? How about a kiss?"
Jaejoong stood up, this time without ending up on the floor. "How dare you!"
"You're a flirt when you're sober, Jae!" Yunho shot back. "But you're a disaster when you're drunk-"
"I am drunk, not insane!" Jaejoong shouted incredulously. "You think all it takes is a couple shots and I'm fucking guys on top of tables?"
"That's all it took with me. And all we had was coffee." Yunho said quietly, eyeing the other darkly.
Jaejoong stared at him unblinking for a good, long time. His hands were shaking and he wasn't sure if he was just hot or crying. His world was spinning and he no longer blamed it on the alcohol. He took a shaky breath. "Listen to me, Jung Yunho, because I'm only going to say it once and then I'm going to fucking bed. You can sleep on the couch for all I care."
Jaejoong took a step toward him. "I went to a bar with Yoochun and Junsu. I had a few drinks, so trust me, I am trying really, really hard not to lose my words and puke all over you and then laugh. Okay? We drank. We had fun. We came home."
Jaejoong took another step but Yunho held his ground. "If any guys talked to me tonight, we had nice, friendly conversations and then we went our fucking separate ways."
Jaejoong stepped forward. "And whether or not I got groped a couple times is none of your business because-"
Yunho narrowed his eyes. "You-"
"-Because I love you, Jung Yunho." Jaejoong was almost breathing erratically. "I hide behind Junsu when a guy gets too handsy because I love you. I sit and watch from the table while Yoochun and Junsu dance to my favorite songs even though the guy in front of me is perfectly willing to have any excuse to get anywhere near my ass because I love you. I deal with your socks lying all over the damn place no matter how many times I ask you to pick them up because I love you. I kiss you every morning before we go to work because I love you. I breathe because I love you. I had sex with you that night in the coffee shop because, you know what? I think I already loved you."
Jaejoong was right under Yunho's nose now, finger buried into his chest. "Now, I apologize for forgetting to call. It won't ever happen again. But don't you ever question my love for you again. Because honestly, I don't think I've ever been more insulted in my life."
Jaejoong turned on his heel and marched off. A little too quickly, perhaps, because his vision grew blurry as his shin rammed into the coffee table.
He crumpled to the floor in pain and Yunho quickly bent down to help him. Jaejoong shrugged him off and limped away with what dignity he had left, slamming the bedroom door behind him.
Yunho ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head. How had all this become his fault?
His eyes darted between the couch and the bedroom door, wondering how quickly Jaejoong would forgive him.
Submissive
Jaejoong's back arched as Yunho buried his nose at the base of his cock.
"Oh, god." He gasped.
Yunho slid up the shaft and licked the precum off the tip.
Jaejoong whimpered as he watched him through dark eyes, pupils blown wide. "Yunho...Yunho, I'm sor-"
Yunho cut him off with a rough kiss, all tongue and hands. He left a trail of fervent kisses to Jaejoong's ear. "No, I'm sorry, baby."
Jaejoong clawed at Yunho's back, sure to leave angry, red fingernail marks. "I love you. I love you so-oooh, don't do that." Jaejoong dissolved into breathy giggles.
Yunho blew where he'd licked Jaejoong's ear. "You like that?"
Jaejoong hummed his approval.
Yunho's hands traveled down lower til he had a helping of Jaejoong's ass in each hand. He murmured in the other's ear, deep and dirty. "You liked my tongue in your ass, too?"
Jaejoong groaned. "Yunho..."
"Turn around." Impatient, Yunho tossed Jaejoong on his stomach without waiting for a response. He grabbed his hips and dragged his ass up til Jaejoong was proudly displayed in the air, chest against the pillows.
Yunho paused for a moment, admiring his work as lube dripped down Jaejoong's inner thighs. Jaejoong's needy whines as he stroked himself off shook him back to earth.
Shooing Jaejoong's hand away from his hardened, dripping member, Yunho positioned himself behind the other and entered slowly. Hands intertwined, kisses up and down his back and promises whispered into pillows and hair.
Once Yunho was balls deep and Jaejoong looked back with that look, he completely unsheathed and slammed back in.
Jaejoong cried out, fingers tightening around Yunho's and the sheets.
As Yunho picked up the pace, the headboard banged into the wall, Jaejoong whimpering helplessly with each thrust. "Oh, god, Yunho."
Without much warning, Yunho flipped Jaejoong on his back and buried himself inside him. They clutched each other tightly, Yunho's hands tangled in Jaejoong's hair, Jaejoong's hands wandering all over his back and lips wherever skin touched.
As Yunho started thrusting, Jaejoong's moans became more incessant. His legs wrapped around Yunho's waist tightly. Begging for more contact, more heat. Yunho stroked him off as he thrust deeper, digging the most guttural cries out of the man beneath him.
Jaejoong smelled like all kinds of liquor and Yunho smelled like wine but when Jaejoong came, he tasted like sunlight. When Yunho came, he felt like rain in the summer.
Crazy
A couple years passed. Maybe more, because time really does fly.
"You guys are insane." Changmin muttered under his breath.
"Damn straight!" Jaejoong blurted, mostly to pep up Yoochun who looked queasy as he peeked over the edge and blanched a deathly shade of white.
Junsu had to shout over the roar of the engine. "You okay, Chunnie?"
Yoochun swallowed as he glanced down at the ground, green and lush and 2,000 meters below. "I think I'm gonna throw up. Then I'm gonna kill Jaejoong for suggesting this."
"You always said you wanted to go sky diving." Yunho offered.
Yoochun glared. "I was joking!"
Jaejoong just laughed maniacally.
It had been a while since they had all been together like this. Yoochun and Junsu were busy with the twins and Changmin had just started to get serious with a guy he'd been dating even though he swore it wasn't that serious.
They all promised that no matter what, at least once a month, they'd get together and do something big. Even though they all pretty much knew that over time, once a month might turn into once a year with coffee in between. But it was a promise worth clinging to.
"You guys ready?" The safety officer shouted.
"Yes!" Jaejoong yelled.
"No!" Yoochun pleaded.
Junsu rubbed his back. "Just think of the twins."
Yoochun turned green. "Oh god, I'm never gonna see them again."
"Yes, you will!" Jaejoong grabbed his hand and grinned that way he did like the world could catch on fire and everything would be alright.
"We're reaching the drop zone." The safety officer announced.
All five grabbed each other's hands tightly.
"Anything you guys want to say before we jump?" Yunho shouted.
Changmin shook his head as he looked down. "I already said it."
"I love you guys!" Junsu shouted.
"I WILL see my babies after this!" Yoochun yelled with determination.
"Life is sweet!" Jaejoong sang.
Yunho just kissed Jaejoong.
And they all fell plummeting to the earth. Because hand in hand, they could fly.
Me
Jaejoong waited anxiously in front of his old university's auditorium. Yunho had asked him to meet there.
At the place where they had run into each other for a mutual friend's performance. And fate handed them seats right next to each other as Junsu sang his heart out.
The place where they had first met.
It was Saturday, so there weren't many students. Only a few stage crew retiring to their cars after an earlier performance. Jaejoong was thankful because he wasn't exactly thrilled to have an audience.
He glanced at his watch for the millionth time even though Yunho wasn't late. Jaejoong was just painfully early, which proved only to torture himself unnecessarily.
He dug his hands in his pockets and took them out, ran his hands through his hair, retied his shoes and looked at his damn watch again. Til he finally saw that familiar face striding across the quad. Yunho waved and Jaejoong waved back.
When Yunho stopped in front of him, neither kissed, nor hugged. Just smiled with mild discomfort.
Yunho cocked his head to the side. "Hey."
Jaejoong cast his eyes to the ground. "Hey..."
The other chuckled quietly. "Were you always this shy?"
Jaejoong looked up at him. "You know me."
A brief silence washed over them, both tangled in their own thoughts.
"Excuse us!"
Clumsily, a handful of students squeezed through the doorway of the auditorium with a large wooden door. They passed between Yunho and Jaejoong, blocked the view of the other. As Jaejoong stared at the chipped wood, he clenched his hands. God, this is hard.
Once the students had passed, Jaejoong stumbled around for words. "Um, so, why'd you want to meet here?"
Yunho was gazing off at the retreating students as they bumbled around with the prop in their hands, chatting animatedly. "Were we ever that young?"
Jaejoong rolled his eyes. "We're not that old."
"Yeah, but we will be."
"In the very, very, very, very distant future. A future in which I will still be gorgeous."
Yunho chuckled. "And demanding."
"And lovable." Jaejoong huffed.
"And so damn frustrating."
Jaejoong looked at Yunho, startled and the other nervously ran his hands through his hair.
"Ah...not the best way to start off this conversation." Yunho rubbed the back of his neck.
Jaejoong blinked. "What do you mean?"
Yunho looked at him. "But even when you're frustrating, you're Jaejoong."
Jaejoong stared at him. "What does that mean?"
He opened his mouth as if to say something and laughed instead, shaking his head. "Let me get this over with." Yunho took Jaejoong's hand, closing the space between them. "Jaejoong..."
When Yunho looked down at him, Jaejoong saw kindness. Patience and stupidity. Understanding and possessiveness and passion and friendship. And Jaejoong felt his eyes well up as he contemplated what he was about to do.
And everything, even his own damn name escaped his mind as Yunho went down on one knee.
"I love you, Jaejoong." When Yunho opened the little black box he'd whisked out of his back pocket, Jaejoong thought he was dreaming. "Kim Jaejoong, will you-"
Jaejoong burst out laughing. Even when Yunho stared at him dumbfounded, Jaejoong couldn't manage to stop. But before Jaejoong literally laughed himself to death and Yunho walked away, Jaejoong finally took a breath.
"I can't accept this..." Jaejoong took a step back.
Yunho swallowed, face gone ashen. "B-but I-"
Jaejoong joined him on the ground on one knee with his own little black box in hand, eyes glittering. "Unless, of course, you accept mine."
Yunho stared stupidly at the ring in Jaejoong's box and the ring in his own til Jaejoong's laughter became infectious and he was soon a mess, too.
And when they kissed, they kept laughing. For love, for friends, for insanity and for Changmin's bright ideas, too.
...he loves me.
