1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Took a road trip that was actually worthy of the description that terminology implies.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No. I drank Maker's Mark straight with Rachel like real men should.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Lara, 2 weeks ago.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this past year, thanks. I'm still dealing with 2007.
5. What countries did you visit?
West Texas. And yes, I understand the intended meaning of the word 'country'.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A social life DURING a school semester, a Nintendo Wii, a trusting disposition, new windows, a new kitchen, and money.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
September 27th - Iron and Wine. November 4th.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Quitting Chase ranked second, just under my FREAKIN' FOUR POINT OH.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Either gaining some weight back during the second half of the year or nearly (and accidentally) kicking Jeremy's toenail off yesterday.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
My immune system has been hanging on by a thread since middle school.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
To answer this in the most adorable and domesticated way possible: my new french doors!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My sister, for her musical talent, her bourgeoning maturity, and her change of heart and attitude at home over the last few weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown, for going to China on a whim and for making everyone around them merry.
And, strangely, my uncle's ex-girlfriend Rose, for continuing the work on my grandmother's estate. The entire Dill family will be forever indebted.

No comment.
14. Where did most of your money go?
The house, the car, the schoolin'.
15. What did you get really excited about?
Barack Obama. History. ACL. Japanese. And Harry Potter, dammit!

I don't remember. I'm 25.

MONEY. Truly, I am shallow.

Well, I tried out skinny jeans for the first time. And I changed my plugs for the first time in almost 3 years. I guess that could be considered experimental. Well, for me, at any rate.
34. What kept you sane?
Jeremy. Constantly testing the limits of my mortality. You know, the usual.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I admire Barack Obama. Jeremy and I share a non-sexual affection for Johnny Depp.

Barack Obama.

Adam and Bob.

Kyle and Amanda Trafton. Cristin Day (technically not "new", but close enough).

Plan ahead, but not too far ahead. I need a good dose of fear to do my work well.
