IT'S HALFWAY DONE. omg.
Moving on. . .
I havn't posted seriously in a long time, so there's a lot to catch up on.
First, I'd like to state that I love the English department. The professors and TAs are amazing. seriously. They're eccentric, quirky, have good senses of humor, and are the most understanding and helpful department I've dealt with at Northern (I've gone through many... Psychology, Art, Education, Biology...) I finally feel like there is really hope that I'll get decent grades and be able to graduate, for serious.
Second, Soup night occurred Friday after Hockey. I have never attended any non-band-sponsored-band-party before, and I'm really sad that I missed out on all the fun. I'm glad I went though, even if some... weird things happened.
First of all, Alden apologized to me for being a jerk and not talking to me for the past several months. We dated for almost 10 months, and apparently he can't talk to his ex for half the time that they dated. Now that the half-life of our dating has gone by, he's good to be my buddy again. which is cool, I've missed him being around.
I remember that (oh Christy, you'll find this hilarious, I hope) a particular awkward freshmen 'boner confessed he had feelings for me. OH GOD AWKWARD. See, I know I wasn't too blitzed on soup because I still found this to be terrifying.
I also remember I tried to call Brian, but he didn't answer. I called Maggie and she did answer, and I dropped my phone and apparently fell down while talking to her. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I SAID TO YOU MAGGIE PLEASE TELL ME lol.
Big Mike bought me Jimmy John's around 2:30am, and it was heavenly. Andrea drove me home and made sure to keep tabs on me so I didn't do anything horrible, and so that she could recount my antics when I was sober.
Third, Sequel is fat. She hides all of the food from Taxi. Taxi reclaims some of it, but damn. Sequel is fat. They're growing up nicely and have realized they can go other places when I let them run around... (I always set them on my bed. they used to just stay there and run through the blankets). I love them bunches.
Thanksgiving is being held at our cabin this year. as is Christmas... This is strange to me. My mum wants to distance herself from the house in Holland, as it's officially being reclaimed by the bank next year. My stepdad has been off work since early summer. Most of the freighters were up in Dry-docks as the industry was losing a lot of money. He went down to Florida to take classes to get his ocean license. His company pulled him from classes and got him back to work for all of a week. Now he's off work again, and doing odd construction jobs around Michigan. My mum has been making payments on both the house in Holland and the Cabin. Since Holland flooded and the realestate market tanked, our house was worth less than what we owed on it. This put us in a huge financial bind. My mum declared bankruptcy- so we're losing the house and the motorhome. The cabin is technically my stepdad's, so we luckily get that.
My father declared bankruptcy last year, not really because of lack of income, but because he's terrible at handling his money. He's a car salesmen, so his market isn't great, but he still tops #of sales at his dealership (which is a pretty big deal, Al Serra's is huge).
My older brother Ryan (transformers, fiance and baby) was laid off from his job recently too. He still has ad's from his personal website to get some money, and also some freelance work, because he's a BAMF like that.
Shaun, I have no idea what his life is like... He's my other older brother out in CA. I called him on his birthday, but got his machine. he told my mum he'd call me back, but so far no dice. He did that last year too, didn't answer my birthday call and didn't call back...didn't answer my 'Happy Thanksgiving' call, and I got a text back, the same text he spammed everyone else in the family with. it's just weird with him, I don't know what to think.
Boy has no life, he's too busy with his triple music major =P
I have a job, but I'm getting transferred next semester since I've too many night classes to keep my current one. Hopefully this means I'll be able to pick up more hours and help out paying my tuition... bah.
I think that's it really...back to paper work!
