forcing enthusiasm

I'm tired of being sick, and sick of being tired. I'm also sick of being negative. And so, it's time to put all of that aside for the moment and write about the good things in my life.

School begins next week. I'm taking two classes - Life Span Development and Principles of Industrial/Organizational Psychology as well as a seminar. My program requires that we attend three weekend seminars (called "Colloquia") which are designed to prepare you for the dissertation process. They hold them all over the country, but the one I'm attending is in March in Dallas.

It's crazy how you can get textbooks these days. Back in the day, it was a few different websites and the bookstore. I actually rented one of my textbooks for $32 (it came with a prepaid envelope to return it on 3/30/11). I bought the other one for about $26, marked down from $85. AMAZING.

I spent time with Lauren Parrish yesterday - I'm not sure if many of you knew her, she was two years behind us at UD. She was my roommate while I was getting my MA. She lives and works in London, but was in town for Christmas. We went to a wine bar in Grapevine and talked until probably midnight. I truly, truly miss my UD friends. The conversation just never stops.

I won't say anything negative about work in this entry...I booked a conference in Las Vegas in March, which should be fun.
Speaking of which, I probably should get back to it. Technically I have another 20 minutes left on the clock. :)
