Last month was a blur. Sometimes literally, as I do not believe I have drunk that much alcohol since...ever? I'm not really a drinker to begin with, but when others are paying and they put them in front of you...well, I'm not fond of waste.
Anyway (again.)
I went to an FBI Intelligence Analyst symposium last month in Belleview, WA and traveled with the loss prevention manager who covers the Pacific Northwest region. He's so much fun - kind of like a metro older brother. He went with me to the H&M in Seattle and actually bought clothes. But I digress...the purpose of the symposium was to meet with other intelligence analysts from the FBI and other companies. It was incredibly interesting, and very different to interact with people from the public sector, who seemingly have their own language at time consisting mainly of acronyms.
When I returned from this trip, I had about 36 hours before departing for Las Vegas and another convention. This one was incredibly lame. The instructor seemed woefully unprepared for us, and annoyed when we needed help. Thankfully I was only gone for a few days.
Now that I'm back, I'm basically trying to get caught up at work and looking to the APA deadline. I have two months to finish one paper and write another, then prepare presentations. I'm trying to feel confident, but I feel really unfocused at the moment.
I've been reading everyone's ljs lately and thinking about you all, I'll try to be better about writing!
