Taking to Stephen: "So I'm thinking I'll drop G off on my way to work." And I pause, and just sit there in that moment and think how weird it sounds. Because pretty much I've never been on my way to work (unless you count going from upstairs to downstairs) his whole life. Weird. Steve pointed out that it was sorta like that when I had my student placement. Sorta. But still. Also, 2 kids. At 2 different daycares. Interesting.
I'm nervous a little but mostly excited. I'm ready to be past that part where I don't know enough to work independently. I haven't been a trainee in forever.
I had to go buy a new work wardrobe. Thank you Savers. I asked my boss what the dress code was like and he said sort of casual sometimes he dresses up for donors, as I expected. He suggested I observe for a while to get a feel, which totally makes sense, though I don't think I should observe in my jeans or yoga pants or wedding dress or swimsuit which are pretty much my options.
Also my niece is married now. G and E's first wedding. I felt sorry for some of the other parents because my kids were so cute (though one family with a breakdancing 8 year old in a suit and Chucks and two adorable little girls was a closer runner up). I clearly recall photographing this niece at 3 1/2 (an odd tradition in my family). I am apparently old. Huh.
