this weekend kicks ass. i almost wish my parents weren't coming so i could hang out with people a little more but i think it'll be ok. it'll be really good to see my parents. cause i won't see them again until thanksgivign. here's what they're doing cause they're silly. they're going to quillans wedding in kansas next weekend (yay!). wish i could go, actually. buuut i kinda have a choir concert that weekend that my parents will be missing because of the wedding. ah well. but before that, my dad has business in des moines, so my mom is accompanying him there. and they were like... well as long as we're going to des moines, lets hop on over to st olaf "on the way" even though it's totally not, to see kate. yay! we're going to explore the cities. i'm excited. and just catch up with them about the semester adn what not cause i totally haven't had time to do that.
oh my gosh. last night we seriously had gourmet food. it was amazing. i didn't really help with much, other than washing and tearing the lettuce for the salad. but it was AMAZING. apparantly it was greek salad... with this amazing dressing, peppers, tomatos, feta, lettuce, olives... and CALZONES! with dough made from scratch and tomato sauce with fresh mushrooms and zucchini put in it (i've decided i like zucchini now) and... the calzones had ricotta in them with ham and some herbs. and then for dessert we had this amazing apple crisp made from apples stolen from the caf over an amount of time. MY FRIENDS ARE AMAZING COOKS. and we did this all in the dorm kitchen. haha. anyway, it was amazing. and i got to hang out with people that i don't often (although recently i have been more often) hang out with... all the guys and such. and amy. i got to have a nice long conversation with amy about the camp she worked at this summer and after seeing pictures and hearing all about it, i decided it's probably not the kind of camp i want to work at. way too fundamentalist, for one. i mean... any church camp is going to be really pentacostal because cmon... it's camp. but i think the theology would really bother me a lot. so, that's a problem. plus the set up is a lot different from greenwood... instead of having kids from all over, they have churches that sign up for a week and come with their pastor and do like... confirmation class and that type of stuff. not my thing. plus the counselors all knew each other cause they went to the same college. and also it's apparantly a really athletic type of atmosphere. so... yeah.
but amay and i got to talk and taht was really cool. and they all made me play piano and i messed around and played little licks from stuff cause i couldn't remember anything.
so last night was amazing. and today i'm going to get some work done and practice and... call alan and maybe go to the apple orchard! or not. we'll see. tomorrow my parents come and leave on monday. then more work/practice... and tuesday i work 2 hours in the morning and then more homework and practice. and hanging out in between all that jive.
so life is really pretty good right now. the craziness of last weekend is over... YAY! so, that is good.
but now i'm going to go shower, get my laundry out of the washer, go practice, maybe come back for some lunch... and take some pictures of campus beause it's GORGEOUS right now.
