random update for anyone who's interested....
this week/weekend/month/semester have been intense and crazy. but GOOD. specifically right now, I have a music history test on Monday (tomorrow! Aaaaagh) which basically is like... studying for 20 finals because there's so much information and it's scary. really scary. tuesday i have a theory exam. which will be scary cause it's our first one and i've pretty much been blowing off that class for music history. and our prof is my roommate's organ teacher (and is also hilarious) and she mentioned that sophmores always forget about theory until after they get the first test back.... meh! :( oh well. plus i have a take home religion test due tuesday, but i'm going to finish that this morning. it's not too bad. while i was writing it yesterday i was like... wow, i feel like i really like history right now. history has never been one of my favorite things, which is sad cause my mom was a history major and such. anyway. i felt like calling her and saying that. but didn't, and then by the time i had started studying music history i was like.... aaagh. but the truth is i guess that this is all super interesting and i love it. and yay! except i have to read luther's bondage of the will tonight and it's like 40 pages and i don't wanna. if anyone has never read any luther, i recommend it to you. he's pretty hilarious. my favorite quote so far: this is from his Pagan Servitude of the Church (aka Babylonian Captivity of the church... which, btw is super confusing because we talked about the Great Schism kind of in reference to the Babylonian Captivity... but that's definitely not the same one that Luther is talking about so... agh!) anyway here's the quote: " A greatly esteemed book entitled the Summa Angelica enjoys a wide circulation, but it consists of a jumbled colleection, a kind of bilge-water, of the offscourings of all that men have handed down. It would more appropriately be called the... (DUN DUN DUN) SUMMA WORSE THAN DIABOLICAL." sorry. i find that ridiculously hilarious. turns out that the Summa Angelica (according to the footnotes) was one of the books that Luther burned cause he got... angry. hahaha wow. i'm a nerd.
so anyway i love all my classes even though it gets crazy and i don't have enough time to do anything. this weekend i studied all the time. minus hanging out a little bit friday with some new fun people and last night watching Brazil with more new people. that movie is CRACKED out. seriously. i didn't really like that much actually. i sold my concert ticket for The Bravery last night so i could study... i'm lame. but someone bought so i get my money back, i'm excited about that.
my dad is coming to see me/put a larger harddrive in my computer tomorrow. b/c my computer has 10 gig drive. or meg. or whatever it is. but it has 10 instead of the 80 one he's going to put in. and therefore XP don't work so well on it... and i can't d/l itunes which was the whole point i wanted to get xp on here... aie aie aie. it's so bad i can't even do windows updates, so it's kind of a problem. but it will be fixed! yay! and my parents are coming up next weekend for 2 days "on their way" to des moines. but it will be good cause it's fall break and ill be here all alone and i don't wanna be sad cause my friends will all be on cantorei or orchestra tour or on plans that they didn't include me in and i'll be like.. meeehhhhh i'm not good enough to be in cantorei. :(
anyway i need to go write my thing and sucxh. and then keep studying music history. ew, i just got a weird wiff of like.. pizza mixed with nastiness. that's gross. i dunno where it's coming from. oh well. bye guys!
