i have to say my favorite part about you is that you're a shit stirrer, which encourages me in my own shit stirring. it's crucial within any group dynamic to include someone who challenges the status quo, who asks why? when no one else will, who risks mere decorum for deeper answers. i appreciate this about you, even (and especially) when we do not agree (which.........has that happened so far?).

aw, elliot harmon, there's not enough space in this little box to list everything i love about you. first, i think you're brilliant; whenever we talk, i learn new words and ideas. you're also awesome about never ever even once being a jerk about your brilliance--i always feel unafraid to ask you for clarification. i appreciate that you've called me on my bullshit (remember the sixteenth street mall? in denver? where my jaw dropped off and i've been going around without it ever since?) and you'll continue to. i also just listened to the voicemail you left me maybe a month ago last night--and that's one of my favorite parts about our friendship, that time passing does not diminish our affection for each other.
