Wednesday July 6th
Wednesday was my last day at work and I think it went pretty smooth. I took care of all the issues I knew would arise while I was gone and did all the paper work for things I knew were going to happen on Thursday and Friday because I figured it would take me more time to figure out what my replacement did wrong rather then just do it myself. I worked until about 5:00 that night and then I headed over to see the woman who was going to marry us and give her our ceremony! I ended up spending about an hour with her just going over all the little details and getting her up to date on our plans and the ceremony details and stuff like that.
When I got home I found a VERY stressed out DH! He was all worked up because he was taking those 2 grad classes and he didn't have any time to do anything for the wedding. I tried to make his life easier by doing the programs that night and running his errands, but boy oh boy was he stressed out!!! I ended up making that one last trip to Wal-Mart for wrapping paper and a card box (actually a bird cage type thing) and some toys for the triplets in case they came to town and some cat litter and food for the kids...stuff like that! On my way by Joann Fabric's I stopped and picked up about 20 more yards of fabric to decorate the hall with...all in all I probably spent over $100 on yards and yards of fabric for the ceremony location (with coupons!!!).
I went home later that night and attempted to calm DH down some more. I helped him read for his classes and I did the typing while he dictated to me a paper that needed to be done (I can type MUCH faster then he can!!!). By the end of the night he was less stressed and we had a pretty good plan of attach for the next two days...little did we know that our lives and house were about to turn upside down with craziness!!!
Thursday July 7th
I took Thursday off, but I made an appointment for a manicure at 9:30am so I didn't get to sleep in too much. I woke up that morning at 6:30 and finished assembling the centerpieces and arranging all of the boxes to take to the reception hall that night. I left my house at 9am and stopped at the liquor store and purchased a case of Champaign to bring to the casino to serve us as we have our pictures taken between the ceremony and reception there. On my way to my manicure I stopped at the print shop and dropped off our programs to be printed....Then I went and had a wonderfully relaxing manicure with hand massage and paraffin dip!!!! On my way home from the manicure I picked up the printed programs and swung by burger king for a chicken sandwich (which ended up being the only food I ate that day!). I was home by 12:30 and ready to start cleaning my house. I got about 2 rooms done before DH came home and wanted to take a nap. He fell asleep and I ran out to the florist to grab some roses for the cake topper and took them to the bakery...then I did some last min. grocery shopping for the "just in case" guests that may be staying with us that night. ...I got back to our apartment by 4:00 and that was just in time for us to start packing up the car with all of our reception goodies (centerpieces, table runners, cake stand, guest book, toasting flutes...etc.). We left the house and headed over to the reception and meet with them from about 5:00 to about 5:45...during that time DH got 5(!!!!) phone calls from his brother, our landlady and his BM telling us that we had people at our house waiting for us!!!
We quickly finished up our meeting with the reception and sped home to see a VERY full house (BM, DH's brother and SIL, and the triplets!!!)...plus our two cats who were scarred out of their minds of the girls (it could be because the girls were literally chasing them around my living room). DH, his brother, the BM and another local GM all hopped in a car and headed off to Syracuse to pick up their tuxes while I staid home with SIL and the triplets and entertained them! FH's SIL, the girls and I all went for a walk, then we came home and fed them dinner (Kraft Mac and Cheese).... I put on Finding Nemo and that calmed them down for about an hour so SIL and I could get some wedding stuff done (folding programs, wrapping presents and writing cards). The guys didn't get home until almost 10:00pm and by that time the girls were tired and cranky! We didn't have a lot of space for them all to sleep so we divided the house up this way...SIL slept with the girls in our computer room on the floor, BIL and BM slept in the living room and DH and I slept in the bed room with the 2 cats. let me tell you, that was the worst night of sleep I had gotten in MONTHS!!! Those cats were on top of us and under the bed and on the dresser and EVERYWHERE !!!! At about 5am DH got up and emptied the clothes out of the hamper and trapped the more psycho of the two cats under it. He put a laptop on top of the hamper and a big blanket over top of it (picture trying to get a bird to be quite at night)....Well, it's pretty funny now, but at the time those cats were just so annoying and all we wanted was sleep...it was hard to see the humor at that time!!!
